It's always been a pleasure for me to feature brands or stores that have charity programs, I would be very happy to help spread the words about it. Tea is one of those great store that gives back. Tea started in 2002 in San Francisco with three pima cotton sweaters. Now, they offer two full assortments: Tea Collection and Daily Tea which are available in more than 500 stores including Bloomingdale’s, Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Takashimaya, and the best boutiques throughout the US and abroad.
Tea Collection is currently partnered with The Global Fund For Children which is a foundation that provides capital to strengthen innovative community-based organizations serving the most vulnerable children and youth worldwide.
The Global Fund For Children:
The needs of children and youth, though in many ways universal, are best responded to in ways that fit the particular situation on the ground. GFC therefore supports groups that are providing for the needs of children in a variety of ways—by giving scholarships to allow poor children to attend formal schools, by providing tutoring and after-school services to youth at risk of leaving formal schooling, or by establishing classroom environments on train platforms, in boats, on beaches, or at garbage dumps. This model of grantmaking is both time—and labor-intensive, but its impact is substantial.
Last fiscal year, GFC has awarded 488 grants valued at more than $3.28 million to grassroots groups serving vulnerable children and youth around the world. Since 1997, they have awarded over $14 million in grants to 362 groups in 72 countries.
Do Good While You Shop:
50% of the purchases from Tea Collection's "Little Citizens" line goes to the Global Fund for Children, a charity which assists in children's literacy and well being in countries all around the world.
The "Little Citizens" line is so cute! Just look at below. There's also a set of one clothing item and a book. Or you could just buy the book. It's a great book for kids with colorful pages full of photos.
