I love mineral makeup because it's the most healthiest, most natural form of makeup available in the market now. So why choose the non mineral ones when you have the option to be safe and healthy without those harsh chemicals?

Mineral makeup contains no irritants, preservatives, fillers, etc. It's not only healthier for your skin it also gives you a smooth flawless finish and easy to apply. Mineral Basics is one makeup company that offer all natural cosmetics to people with all skin types and tones across the globe. And here's how the story goes..
I'm looking for mineral infused eye shadows right now to replace my "big dept store brand" eye-shadow. And lucky for me, Mineral Basics sent me 15 samples of their mineral makeup to try.

All I can tell you is I had a lot of fun trying them out! I am so in love with mineral makeup after trying all of those samples. I had the opportunity to choose the samples myself so I chose 9 eye-shadows samples, 2 blush samples, 1 foundie samples, 1 bronzer, 1 finishing powder and 1 concealing eye illuminator.

I am telling you the truth when I say I love all of the samples I got! My most favourite is the "Angel Eyes" - Mineral Makeup Concealing Eye Illuminator. Basicly it's a concealer / primer for your eyes and with it's pearlized blend of mica and real pearls it captures bits of light and scatters them, easing the look of fine lines and wrinkles and commanding a diffused finish, all day long. It helps to lift and prevent discoloration and hyper pigmentation around the eye area, resulting in naturally brighter, younger-looking eyes. I just loved this product! It covers your flaws, bags, puffs and dark under eye circles. It creates the perfect primed base for applying eye shadow. It protects your delicate eye skin from the sun and it sets itself and lasts all day. I experienced all that! And it does help my eye-shadow stays longer and smoother. Try it and you're gonna love it!

I also love all the eye-shadows and blushes, most of them are multi-use mineral powders so it can be used for eye shadows, for blush, for lips even for your nails! I have been searching for a blush that would look good on my face complexion for a while and I think I just found it. Now one of my daily makeup routine is to put on the Peachy blush on my cheeks blended with Tropical multi-use mineral color for bronzer / highlight.

I also tried the Oil-Absorbing Stones Finishing Powder which contains small clay stones that are excellent for absorbing oil. Since this is pure clay, it helps to absorb excess oil and moisture, while giving a matte appearance. You can use this all over as a finishing touch or just on oily zones/spots. I'm using it as a primer because the website also recommends it and it does make my foundation stays put and keeps oil at bay all day long. This is quite an important essential for oily or combination skin like mine, now I don't have to worry about my makeup melting because of the oil glands on my face decide to show up ^o^

Owh, it's so cute it made me happy all over. From the day I received it I couldn't wait to try and mix n match it with different outfit! This belt is so versatile and I love the quality of the fabric as well as the neat stitching, you could tell it was a professional job. And I love the 4 different brass buttons too! I mentioned to her that I love intricate details on a button and apparently she remembers! She chose brass buttons with intricate details for my belt. Rachel does a very good job. As I told you, I couldn't wait any longer to wear it and try it with different outfits. I wore this belt 3 days in a row last week and I wear it practically every day this week ^o^ I got complimented a lot with this belt, even my mom seems a little bit jealous - lol

Random fact: Did you know that in the past time (in Regency era to be exact), ready-made apparel was not commonly available. Clothes were custom-made and not off the rack. There are many time spent in making clothes for one self.
Example: if you want to make a gown then you have to go to the Linen-Drapers first. Linen-Drapers is what we called fabric merchant now. You go there to browse and buy some fabrics for your gown.

And then you go to the Haberdashers to buy some trimmings (according to Wikipedia, A haberdasher is a person who sells small articles for sewing, such as buttons, ribbons, and zippers).

And after that you can go visit the Dressmaker to browse and choose a design for your gown. New gowns are ordered by consulting the many fashion sketches available at the Dressmaker.

And if you want to add some accessories to your custom-made gown (and accessories is a must back then!) you have to go to the Milliner for hats.

And then to other store for fan, gloves, etc. You come to the Jeweller for jewelries and oh, shoes were custom-made too!

Imagine all those time wasted for just one gown! And compare it to today where we could go to the mall, pick our own dress, try it on the spot and then brought the dress home at the same day. Or you could even buy clothes online without leaving your bed. talk about super time-saver! and thank God for internet.
