Hauls & Freebies : SEPTEMBER 2011
2:45:00 AMI've missed August's "New Things in My Wardrobe" post, sorry for that. And since I don't really remember all details of the things that I got (purchased and/or freebies) during August so let's just skip it, and lets just jump to last month's purchases and freebies now, shall we?
Okay, first up is the Purchases I made last month:
Ciciero Tiara bag in black. This bag is from a local brand which I have reviewed in my last post. Love this bag, it's so versatile and looks great with everything. The quality of the material is ( I think ) the most gorgeous faux croco leather that I have ever seen in a bag.
I went to a local supermarket called SuperIndo and saw a gorgeous set of bottles in the cutest purple and black design, standing right in a rack on the Beauty/BodyCare alley. I never saw them before, it's a set of Body Wash from Ella Noir (Ella Noir Body Douche). They are a set of a "morning" body wash + a "night/afternoon" body wash. So there are two different soaps for morning and night. NICE!
Well, I've never heard of Ella Noir before but since the packaging is really pretty and the whole look is just really enticing to me (and reminds me of Anna Sui packaging) so I put them in my shopping cart anyway.
My parents in law bought me a pink striped t-shirt from Hammer the other day. I love it! Very country-club preppy-ish style. It's pink, and it's a polo shirt, and it's stripey too, perfect to be mixed and matched with everything ;)
I admit that I have fallen into the BB Cream craze. BB Cream has literally take over the make-up world in Asia, especially in South East Asia. We swore by it (I'll be putting on a post about some BB Cream reviews later on), but we only have one brand that has BB Cream here and it's Maybelline. Other BB Cream brands (usually from Korea) are only available via ebay or online store with pre-order system. So when I heard about new BB Cream from a local brand I literally jumped and start to hunt them down. Caring Colors by Martha Tilaar is a local well-known brand, they're currently introducing their newest product which is BB Cream. They haven't officially sell this BB Cream yet, they only sell it as a bonus in their Caring Colors' Ready, Steady, Go! package. So I bought the package which include a face powder, a lipstick, and a BB Cream. Review of this package will come out soon (watch this blog ;p).
On my last grocery shopping I bought some beauty stuffs which I meant to also review here later on. These are supermarket brands and three of them are actually from local brands. I love how our local brands are improving their qualities to be able to compete with international brands. And I love sharing our local Indonesian brands to the world! They did great advertising programs, and they did some great improvements too, on the products and on the packaging design. I especially always got interested with cute packaging, I mean if I can collect the empty boxes of all the products which I bought for their cute package I would have a garage full of them, no kidding.
So anyway, here's what I got from the supermarket:

I have always been looking for the most bold blackest mascara ever. Well I still haven't found one but this Maybelline Volum Express Turbo Boost Mascara is definitely one of my go-to mascara right now. It gave me quite a good amount of lengths and thickness. I basically went to the Maybelline counter at Sogo PIM 2 and asked the make up assistant there which mascara she recommends for the most bold look. She handed me this one so I bought it to try it myself. Well although this is not the mascara I really want but it is the best mascara I've tried so far.
I hope you can see the result from above photo, I wore 2-3 layers of the mascara on the photos above.
And as for the freebies:
I got this free Cherry Blossom Hand Cream from L'occitane in sample sized tube just by liking their page on Facebook. They had a special promo last month; they will give out free hand lotions in sample sized tubes for the first 500 followers on their FB Fan Page, and I was one of them. So I went to their counter at Plaza Senayan to claim the free tube. First I was greeted nicely by a store assistant who I assumed was a senior rank there, but after she learned that I was there only to claim the free tube she kinda get a little snobbish and called the other store assistant to handle my request, and then she just left me standing there. I used to work as a customer service so I always appreciate a good client service, and these kind of thing irritates me. You must always appreciate every customer who walked into your store, right? Well, if I ever want to buy a L'occitane product I will make sure that I WON'T BE shopping at their Plaza Senayan counter.
Anyway, I love the lotion. The size makes it perfect to be put inside my make-up pouch so I can use it anytime I need it. I love the scent which is very soft and very subtle, but you can still smell it long after you put it on your hand. It also makes the skin soft and moist. The smallest full sized tube cost around IDR 108.000 (if I'm not mistaken) for 30ml tube.
So my mom was rummaging through her old stuffs to find things to be put on the garage sale. She gathered some of her old bags and kindly asked me first whether I want to keep any of them before she took them to the garage sale.
Are you kidding, Mom?
Of course I would want it, it's Vintage!

So I chose two small vintage bags; one is a grey vintage purse, and the other one is a casual black bag with long strap just like what stylish people wear today. You can see how I wore the black bag here.
And at the end of last month I got an invitation to attend Guess 2011 Fall/Winter preview event at the Guess Store in Grand Indonesia. I will put up a post about it soon ( I know, I promised you a lot of posts, ha! I am so behind on my blogging schedule). Anyway I got a cute pink Guess pouch as the goody bag from the event. Apparently everyone got a different pouch so I guess I'm lucky enough to get the pink one. It's so cute, and I love pink. And I happened to be currently in need of a new make up pouch too ^__^
PLUS I still have some purchases from eBay which I got last month too, but since there are quite a few of them so I thought I'm gonna make a separate eBay haul post instead. Stay tuned for the post (I know, more promises... sorry.. ;p).
