Event: Revlon Sneak Preview for 2012 New Products
5:02:00 AM
Last week I (along with other beauty bloggers) were invited by Revlon to see the Sneak Preview of their newest make up products for 2012. These products haven't even been launched yet so it was an exclusive sneak preview and it was a privilege for me to be able to attend and preview the products before it hits the market.
This preview is for the new Revlon products that would be launched by the second quarter of this year. The meet-up was held at the new Tempo Scan Tower (Revlon's office just recently moved there).
I was the first blogger to arrived (even though I was already 20 minutes late), so I got the chance to chit chat with Ms. Santi Turino, Revlon Indonesia's Brand Manager.
About 15 minutes later the other bloggers were starting to arrive..

Right there, ready in our table were some products from Revlon PhotoReady, ColorStay and Age Defying series:
I was dying to know about the Revlon Photoready because I've heard they're quite awesome, especially if you're likely to have your photograph taken during the day (example: bloggers who took photos almost daily, and the rest of us who likes to take photos with our phone for twit pics (twitter), facebook, personal collection, etc ;p).
The Photoready makeup range were created to accentuate your face and make you look even more flawless on photos by using photochromatic pigments that can reflect lights to erase every flaw, so your face will appear soft and luminous in photos.

Revlon also introduces us to Susan Vargas who is a Make Up Artist from Revlon Australia who will share some makeup tricks as well as doing a makeup demo that day. There was also Carissa Puteri, Revlon Brand Ambassador for Indonesia who will be Susan's model for the makeup demo.
Susan gave us some great pointers and tips for makeup as well as the current trend in make up industry. That day she expressed her skills by using the Revlon PhotoReady series to create a flawless natural look that she called "complexion perfection".
In my understanding, it's all about a smooth and flawless looking face that would look good on and off the camera.

Susan started the make up demo with Carissa Puteri (who is gorgeous by the way - even with no makeup on! *envy*), giving her a natural look for "Day" with soft colored eyeshadows, sheer blush and fresh pink lipstick. And then she transformed the look to "Night" look by adding bold colors to the eyes and changing the lipstick color to a deeper red color.
Carissa Puteri, isn't she a beauty? |
After that, Susan came to me and Mada (fellow blogger from Beauty on Budget) and asked if either of us would like to do the Blogger make-over. Well at that time I was kinda shy about it, so Mada did the honour hehehe (Go Mada!) ;p
Anyway, the makeover went great, we all came up to the stage to see the step-by-step up close. Susan accentuates Mada's eyes and lips, and Mada looked gorgeous afterward:
Mada (gak percuma jauh2 dari Bandung trus dpt makeover kece ya bu :) |
Of all the PhotoReady series, I was more intrigued with the Mascara - because the tube is big! And I love mascaras. The mascara is called "3DVolume Mascara", if Revlon launch these new products in a few months I would definitely get the Mascara first ;p
Oh and also the Sculpting Blush Palette (which is gorgeous by the way). The Sculpting Blush Palette is an all-in-one makeup for sculpting and contouring the face, complete with a blush, bronze, and highlighter in one simple practical palette. I always love palettes, especially if they're practical enough to be put into my makeup bag ;)
If you're curious about the rest of the products, here are some of them:
Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup
Revlon Photoready Color Correcting Primer (I would love to have this too!)
Susan also mentioned that if you noticed some of the Photoready makeup base / powders have glitters in it when you tried it in your hand, don't worry about it. The sparkle would look like it has too many glitters on it, and when we see that we usually afraid that it would be too glittery to put on our face. But Susan said not to worry, because in a flat surface like our hands the glitter would seems like it's too much, but when we put it on our face the glitters won't be noticeable.
That's because the glitters are meant to accentuate more contoured surface like our face.
And it does make sense!
And it does make sense!
I have a Revlon Touch & Glow loose powder that seems glittery when I tried it on hands, but once I use it on my face it doesn't show any noticeable glitters like it did on my hand. So girls, don't be afraid if you see a face powder or foundie or BB Creams that has glitters in it, they usually would not show in the face, the glitters only shows in flat surfaces like our hands ;)
Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Brightener
The Sculpting Blush Palette !
This eyeliner also has a very practical container, the brush is inside the cap, so if you want to wear it you'll just have to pull the cap out - No need to bring another brush in your makeup bag ;)
And my favorite: Revlon 3DVolume Mascara !
Anyway, I will surely keep a track on when these products would be launched, and will tweet it as soon as I got news about the launch. You can follow my twitter if you like, so you'll be updated too :)
Below are the rest of the photos from the event. The Fimela team were also there to film the makeup demo by Susan Vargas and Carissa Puteri so maybe you can also check out the video at fimela.com.
