I might have told you on this blog how I like my hands to be dry and clean all the time. It may sounds like a freak but I DON'T like it if my hands (especially my palms) are wet or feels dirty or greasy. 

I like my hands totally dry from anything, and that's why I always wash my hands regularly because every time I touch something that would left residue on my hands I'll wash it immediately or wiped it off with a wet tissue or hand sanitizer. Example: right after I touch money, right after I touch my cats, after getting out of the car, after touching keys or other metal items, etc.. you get the idea ;p

And that's why hand sanitizer is a MUST for me. I bring them everywhere.. I have one on my side table, I have one on my work desk, one in the car, one in my travel makeup case, and one in my hand bag - That's how serious I am with hand sanitizer ;p

I even used pocket sanitizer long before they got popular nowadays ;p I still remember people would always asked what's that thing I'm using on my hands before I eat at public places, LOL. And now everybody seems to have one ;p That's great, because it means a higher awareness for personal health.

We all know the American brand of hand sanitizer which is so popular right now (Bath & Body Works), but they are not widely available here yet. And the local brand's hand-sanitizers don't have much choices on the scent options and they all tend to have a strong alcoholic scent (which I hate), so now I would love to introduce you to another option of hand-sanitizer / antibacterial gel that you can get easily here in Indonesia:

Hand Cleanse Gel from The Body Shop

Honestly I was clueless and didn't know that The Body Shop actually have an antibacterial hand gel. Maybe because I never noticed it before at the store ;p But how I'm glad now that I found out about it!

I got the Satsuma scent which is like a fresh citrus / orange scent. I usually can't stand a citrus scent but this Satsuma one is so fresh and the citrus scent in it doesn't smell artificial at all so it smells fresh and invigorating instead ;)

The bottle is small enough for us to carry around on our bags, it's bigger than the popular BBW brand but this TBS one have 60ml of gel in it which is a lot! I would prefer to buy this hand sanitizer over the other ones because I know this one would last longer ;)

The texture of this hand sanitizer is as you can see on below photo, it's made of gel (hence the name, doh), it's transparent, and it's not too thick nor it is too runny. 

I'd say the texture is perfect for a hand cleanser/sanitizer gel. The scent is also not too strong and too overwhelming so it obviously won't bug anyone sitting near you, but it left your hands smells good and the scent does lingers and stays on your hand for quite some time. 

It also dries up perfectly in no time so you won't have to wait that long for your hands to be completely dry. It also left no residue at all so your palm would stay dry with no greasy feeling at all. The only feeling it left behind is the clean feeling on your hands ;)

As for the ingredient department, it contains no triclosan.

I was invited to 3 beauty events that were held on Wednesday and I was planning to attend but unfortunately something urgent came up and I sadly couldn't attend the events :( 

The three events that I missed were the Body Shop E-Commerce and M-Commerce launching at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Talika Indonesia new product launching at Makan-Makan Resto, and the Hada Labo launching event at Poke Sushi Crown Plaza Hotel.

So I sadly cannot give you the reports on the events but you can still read the reports from my fellow IBB / beauty bloggers who attended the events.

Anyway, today I would like to share another "VerSus review". I haven't done this type of "Face-Off Review" (that's what i like to call it ;p) for quite a long time, the last one was the "Deodorant Stick Face-Off" post back in January between Dove & Rexona.

This time the face off review will be between:  

Shikada Facial Cleansing Wipes  
VS  
Purederm MakeUp Remover Cleansing Tissues.

Cleansing wipes or cleansing tissues are one of my must-have item, it's very practical to use and it really helps in lazy nights where I'm just too tired to go wash my face in the bathroom. Although I don't really recommend removing all your makeup with these cleansing tissues alone, because they wouldn't clean your face thoroughly. I use these cleansing tissues as an additional cleanser, so I also use face cleansing milk + toner right after or before I use these cleansing wipes.

The best way is of course to use an eye makeup remover + cleansing wipes + cleansing milk / face wash + toner so that your face is thoroughly clean especially if you used heavier makeup. But for some days that I don't use any makeup, if I only use moisturizer and/or loose powder alone, I would only use these facial wipes + cleansing toner to clean my face from dirt and oil.

If you ask me which one is the better one then I must say that it is pretty much a tie. I'm pretty much satisfied with the results of both cleansing wipes. 

Both of them can totally clean heavy makeup even waterproof ones. If you use makeup with glitters then both of these cleansing wipes did left out a tiny bit amount of glitters though, but with a repetitive swipes the glitters would come off eventually.

Cleansing Power:

Although in the picture below it look like the Purederm one picked off a lot more makeup than the Shikada one but in real life they both are as strong and can pick up the same amount of makeup products, I just didnt have other similar photos except for the one below. 

The cleansing power of both cleansing wipes are really good, although you have to swipe it a couple of times to remove stronger/heavier makeup.

Price & Packaging:

I forgot the exact price of both cleansing wipes but I think the shikada is a bit more cheaper than the Purederm. And the Shikada have 30 sheets in one package while Purederm have 20 sheets in one package. The Shikada is also easier to find because I actually got mine in Carrefour supermarket, while I got the Purederm in Watsons PIM2.

Shikada's packaging has a "how-to" instruction at the back of the packaging while Purederm didn't have one. I always think that a "how-to" instruction is important on every product packaging, as well as "ingredients" section, so Shikada's packaging is a plus for me.

Texture:

Purederm cleansing wipes is somehow thicker than the Shikada one and it is softer too compared to the Shikada one, so in terms of texture I like the Purederm better. The Purederm is also a bit more moist compared to the Shikada one, the Shikada ones can feel a little bit dry if left too long in open air so make sure you shut down the seal on the package really well right after you took one sheet out of it. You might also want to use the Shikada sheet right after you pull it off from the packaging before it gets drier. A dry cleansing wiped won't feel comfortable on the skin.

Overall, I like both of the cleansing wipes :) 

I like the texture of the Purederm better because it is more moist and thicker so it's more comfortable to use on the skin, but I also like Shikada for it's cheaper price and sheets quantity. But the most important thing is both of them can really remove make up and pick up dirt and oil off your face, they are really doing their job so it's up to you on which one you prefer the most: comfort on your skin or a good offer on price/quantity? ;p

So if you remember my post a few weeks back about what's inside my travel toiletries bag for a 2 days trip, I mentioned that I bring along three travel makeup bags with me: one for toiletries, one for eye makeup & longer tools (such as make up brushes, etc), and the other one is my daily makeup bag which I always bring in my handbag everywhere I go. 

 Here's my three makeup bags for the trip:

 

The pink Victoria's Secret bag is for Toiletries, the turquoise-colored Estee Lauder bag is for Eye makeup / brushes, and I use the gold Marc Jacobs Daisy bag for my Daily makeup bag.

I have several other mini makeup bags, I like to use them alternately so that I can wash the other. The Victoria's Secret bag is the biggest bag among my makeup bags collection so I often use it to bring toiletries / skincare bottles. The Marc Jacobs one is the smallest between the three bags above. Here's the comparison between the smallest and the largest bag:

The cosmetic bag that I always tucked inside my bag is consisted of make up tools for touch-ups purposes. I bring that bag everyday and everywhere with me, and what's inside are always different because I changed most of them pretty frequently, depending on the day's makeup and/or occasion. So this post is about what's inside the make up bag that I bring along with me during my last Ied trip to Bandung.

First, let me introduce you to my cosmetic bag ;p

Her name is Daisy, LOL. 

No, not really... I don't named my bags like that ;p 

So anyway, this bag has a zippered compartment inside and an opening at the front (which I used to store my mini perfume and hand lotion so that I can easily grab them whenever I need them). And here is all the things inside the make up bag that I bring along for the 2 days trip:

 

As I told you above, the content of my daily makeup bag changes daily, depending on my makeup that day or on the occasions that I'll be having that day. And these are what I packed for my 2 days trip to Bandung in celebration of Eid day where I would have many family gatherings, visiting families from one house to another.

Everything inside this bag are for touch up purposes, so I only bring face powder (to powder my nose and other oilier area ;p), lip balm (important! Can't leave without them!), blush-ons to make my face seems fresh (despite the tiredness of the many activities), and some various lip colors (I like to have options ;p), as well as a compact mirror, a hand cream (i can't stand a dry hands!) and a perfume (another important item incase you get sweaty).

The Lip Colors:

I simply can not leave home without lipstick, it's one of my most important make up item ;p

As you can see, I brought along some lip color options for this trip. The left one is the Aromatic Health lip balm, and the rest are lip colors. I brought along three shades of lip colors for this particular trip...

The Neutral / Brown-ish shade:

Caring Colors Moisturize Rich Lip Color in #16 Brown Sugar

This may look like a deep brick red color on the photo above but it's actually more like a sheer reddish brown in real life, and it matches my natural lip color (I have a dark lip) so it goes on very neutral looking on my lips, perfect for everyday use or touch ups. This one has a built-in moisture balm in the middle so it doubles up as a lip moisturizer too.

 Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in #01 Red

(lip tint can stay on your lips a lot longer and it can also gives you more natural look so bringing a lip tint is a must for me ;p)

Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense in #42 

(a true red lipstick, perfect for special occasions ;p)

The Pink shades:

Givenchy Gloss Balm in #5 (a fuchsia color with sheer sparkles)

Calvin Klein Glistening Lip Gloss in Taffy ( a sheer pale pink shade)

I also bring a compact mirror inside the bag:

 I got this one from Givenchy, and it has a double sided mirror on the front and back, one being a close-up mirror. So it is practically a good mirror for on-the-go activities.
