DIY - How To Clean Stubborn Stain on Bags
10:29:00 AM
I don't know if you can count this as a "Do-It-Yourself" aka DIY but since this is my blog so I can do whatever I want since this is involving a self-do action so I'm putting this on DIY list hehehe ;p
Here is a quick tips on how to clean stubborn yellow stain on your bag ;P
I got this white bag from Oasap a couple of months ago which I wore almost everywhere, and then I don't know what happened but I found lots of yellow stains on the back of it. Maybe I was careless and put it somewhere dirty or maybe it was some heavy food stain that I got from my many trips to the restaurants, it could be from anything....
All I know is that I have lots of yellow stubborn stains all over the back of the bag.
I have tried cleaning it with damp clothes, wet wipes, soap and water, detergent, clothes-stain-remover, even with make up remover (because mom said that make up remover can help clean stain on bags). Unfortunately, it all fails... The stains were more stubborn than I thought...
I was almost hopeless until I tried googling it and found a few youtube videos that demonstrate on using a nail polish remover to clean stains on bags and shoes. Why can't I think of nail polish remover before??! Silly me..
And so I rushed to get my nail polish remover and clean the yellow stains with it. Actually, I couldn't find my old nail polish remover but I found an old bottle of Acetone which is the same as nail polish remover, so I used that instead.
I pour a few drops of the nail polish remover to a cotton pad and then rubbed it on the stains. I did a try-out first on a small corner so I know it won't ruin the leather of the bag. Remember to ALWAYS do a try-out first when cleaning anything with a strong chemical ingredients, you can do the try-out on a smaller corner like on the bottom of your bag where it won't be visible if incase the chemical ingredient did something awful to the leather even more ;p
So anyway, here's the story of my bag stains:

wow i didn't know that acetone can also be use as removing stains on leather bags. I always make sure that my cabinet has acetone all the time because whenever I use mighty bond I always end up with sticky fingers/hands TT___TT Good thing acetone helps on removing them ^_~
