Valentine's Day Inspiration: "NO PINK" Makeup Look (+ IBB Makeup Challenge)
12:37:00 AM
Hi girls...
I've
been up all night three days ago, tweaking and revamping my blog a little
bit. Maybe you noticed the difference but maybe you don't, because I
only made some slight changes that I think would improve the blog's
visual a little bit.
I
changed the width of my post area so that it has wider space now, and I
also changed the overall fonts again. Hopefully those changes would
make this blog easier to read and more enjoyable to look at. I also did a
slight change in my post footer: re-positioning the comments area, adding one more box of the link-within widget, and adding tags/labels underneath every post (archived in:).
There is also a few tiny changes on the sidebar area but nothing that
you would notice anyway. Lemme know if you don't like the overall new
look.
Anyway, on to today's post...
As you might already know I am doing a Valentine's Day series here in this blog. I had done two Valentine's day outfit inspirations (pink and red) on my previous posts and as I have promised you earlier, I will do a makeup inspiration for Valentine's day.
But wait... There's something uniquely different on this makeup inspiration. Instead of using pink as the go-to color for Valentine's day makeup, I will try to do a "no-pink" makeup for this Valentine's day instead ^o^
Anyway, on to today's post...

This post is also my answer to Indonesia's Beauty Blogger (IBB)'s makeup challenge for this month. If you don't know, the IBB group held monthly makeup challenge with different themes on our website and FB group, and this month's challenge is: "No-Pink Valentine's Day Makeup" :D
I thought this would be more challenging because we are
accustomed to wear pink as the romantic color to suits the Valentine's
day mood. But I think without the color pink we could also achieve a
romantic makeup look ;)
So here is my take on the IBB make up challenge. There's nothing pink except for my blouse here ;)
(without flash, but i edited the lights a little bit)
(with flash)
So for today's makeup inspiration I used no pink shades at all on my
face, instead I am using a pale yellow and bright aqua blue color for the eyes, a mauve
shade on the cheeks, and a soft red color on the lips.
With an addition of long luscious falsies, you'll get a romantic look perfect for a Valentine's date ;)
What do you think ?
I don't use many products with this look. For the base I only use BB cream after my moisturizer, followed by a compact powder. And then after all my makeup is done, I used my HG loose powder (from Revlon) with a face brush from Senna Cosmetics to lightly dusted my face as the finishing touch.
I also didn't used any primer for my eyes, I only used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk for the base and I also only used 2 colors of eyeshadows on my entire lids.
Here is a list of the products I used:
(not much, right? ;p) |
For the face I'm using:
Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals BB Cream [not pictured]
Revlon Touch & Glow Face Powder #69 Soft Beige [as finishing powder]
Philosophy The Color of Grace Shimmering Face Powder [highlighter]
Jordana Cream Blush in #05 Tender Mauve [blush-on]
Viva Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown
For the eyes I used:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk [as base]
Sleek Eyeshadow Original Palette [Colors used: aqua blue + pale yellow]
For the lips I used:
Maybelline Baby Lips in Smoothing Cherry [clear colored balm]
Bobbi Brown Lip Liner in Soft Rose [a muted red color]
CK Calvin Klein Flavoured Lip Gloss in #409 Cupid [a sparkly red gloss]
I've been loving this blue turquoise-ish color recently so I decided to use it as a liner instead ;) I'm using my new MUA E7 brush to apply it as a liner. The E7 brush is a small angled brush which were specially designed for eyebrow and eyeliner definition. I love it as an eyeliner brush, and I will post about my recent MUA hauls soon ;p
Anyway, this is an easy look with only 2 colors of eyeshadows (i'm sorry my camera can't pick up the pale yellow color on the lids). Anyone can easily recreate this look because it's easy, the trickiest thing in this look is applying the falsies, but practice makes perfect, right? :D
