Wet Seasons Essentials
3:38:00 PM
It's raining season here in Indonesia. We don't have winter here, only summer and wet seasons. During the wet seasons the temperature could drop and the weather is chilly especially if it's been raining all day.
If the temperature gets low, my skin would usually becomes dry. I normally have oily skin but when it's cold then my skin would lost it's moisture and I would get that dryness feeling on my skin which I hate so much. I'm also not a fan of cold temperatures because I get cold and shivers easily (and I hate shivering too). That's why I always try to keep myself warm if the weather gets cold. I would usually bundle up in warm clothes and wear socks because I found that if my feet are cold than my whole body would get cold, and vice versa.
So anyway, I thought I'd post about my essentials that I would prefer during the colder temperature. These essentials includes products that I mostly reached for in these rainy days, as well as some other essential items to keep me warm when it's raining outside ;)
BEAUTY ESSENTIALS:
These are all the products that I used lately, especially when it's raining all day. Most of these stuffs are products to keep my skin hydrated and far from dryness. My most must-have items are: hand creams, lip balms, face moisturizer, and body lotion. All of those just to keep the dryness away because I hate it when my skin felt dry or when my lips are chapped because of the dryness.
So if you want to know what these products are, keep scrolling ;)
I'm gonna separate the essentials items here for easy reading...
For Body :
Udderly Smooth Moisturizing Lotion: This is the most moisturizing body lotion I have on my vanity. I seriously mean it. It has very light consistency but it is surprisingly super moisturizing! Unlike body butters which has thicker texture, this one has runny texture but when I used this in the morning it really moisturizes my skin to the extent that I don't even have to reapply any lotion again for the rest of the day. Using this alone is enough for my skin to stay moist all day :) - READ MY REVIEW -
Garden of Love White Rose Hand Cream: I got this from Watsons and at first I didn't really liked it because it was too thick for my oily skin. But when the weather turns cold, this has been great instead ;) So this is too rich for normal days but perfect for colder days ;)
The Body Shop Olive Body Butter: For daily lotion I like to use the Udderly Smooth body lotion above, but for night time I usually reached for this Olive Body Butter from The Body Shop because body butters have that rich texture which I need to keep my skin stays hydrated all through the night until morning time ;)
The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel: This is my current favorite shower gel for colder days. I like showering with this shower gel because this has a warm spicy scent which gives you a warming effect. The ginger scent is probably not for everybody though... but I personally thought that ginger scent can give a warm sensation ;)
For Face:
Lady Soma Renewal Serum: If I feel that my skin is in dry condition and need some extra moisture I usually go for serums. I find that adding a serum on your daily moisturizing routines are important to add that extra moisture you need. For severe dry condition I usually use serums both in the morning and at night before bed time. This serum from Lady Soma is my must-have morning serum because it absorbed very fast and makes my skin looks plumped and my makeup stays put. - READ MY REVIEW -
Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Cream: This is actually not a night cream but I currently use it as my favorite night cream for colder weather because this cream is very soothing. It feels very great on the skin and it makes my skin feels moist and fresh in the morning.
Made from Earth Rosehip + Hibiscus Organic Face Serum: Now this is my night serum. This has thick consistency and needed a good 5 minutes to be fully absorbed on the skin, and that's why I used this before bed time when I don't mind waiting for extra 5 minutes. It's organic and contains lots of vitamins and antioxidant properties, and it also helps restore skin's natural PH balance. - READ MY REVIEW -
Wardah Moisturizer Gel: Now I know you've seen this tube on my January Empties post, but I wrote the draft for this post back in January before I used up this moisturizer gel. Today I'm just updating this draft a little bit before it goes on live. Anyway, just like my previous full review, this moisturizer is too thick and too rich for my combo skin, but for colder weather this is perfect. - READ MY REVIEW -
For Lips:
Honeycat Cosmetics I'm in Heat Warming Cinnamon Lip Balm: This is my favorite lip balm for colder days because this has a unique warming effect that makes your lips gradually feel warmer and warmer. This is a clear lip balm with no color.
Aromatic Health Peppermint Lip Balm: Another lip balm that I like to use during cold months is this peppermint lip balm from Aromatic Health which I got for review purpose a while ago. From all of my lip balm collections this one has the thickest texture, and that's why this is perfect for severe dry lips condition. - READ MY REVIEW -
I usually have 2 or 3 lip balms that I used at a time, so the Honeycat one above is the one that I carry everywhere with me, while the Aromatic Health one is the one I used at home.
Now let's talk fashion-wise..
For colder days, nothing that I would mostly want to wear other than sweaters and lounge / pajama pants. These are my basic house wear when it's raining outside ;) - Just a mix and match of long sleeve thick sweater and a lounge / pajama / yoga pants. Sooo warm and comfy in these... :D
Oh and I also always wear socks at night. This is my newest socks which I got from eBay and this is surprisingly the most comfiest and warmest socks I owned:
It's a below-the-knee socks with cute little floral print and lace detailing at the top. It has a ribbed texture and made from a thick fabric, soooo comfy to wear...
And last but not least, these are my other essentials that I usually reached for when it's cold outside:
Tea!
Lol, I gotta have my tea when it's cold... Tea is good for warming up your body and makes you stay fit. I'm a coffeeholic as well as an avid tea drinker. I love to try many assortment of teas, and that's why you can see above that I have various kind of teas in my stash right now. From the above stash, my most fave is the Sosro Heritage Jasmine Tea, and my least favorite is the Kruger Sweet India Chai Latte ;p
Okay, that's all my wet seasons / colder weather essentials girls...
What are your essentials? Lemme know, I'd love to read it.. :)
Cheers,

here in the philippines is pretty similar with indonesia. During wet season, the climate here is quite chilly and often times my skin would develop dry patches~ I also do have to change my skincare products in order to adjust to the weather changes! thanks for sharing your essentials! ^_~
