There are a lot of beauty brand out there that I would like to know more of, and one of them is Shu Uemura. I'm sure you've heard of the brand Shu Uemura before, or if you don't then you can keep on reading this post ;)

Shu Uemura is named after its founder, a legendary Japanese make-up artist Mr. Shu Uemura who begins working as a makeup artist for Hollywood films since 1955.  He has been in the makeup industry for over 50 years now.

  The philosophy of Shu Uemura is: 

"Beautiful make-up starts and ends with beautiful skin"

Being a breakthrough genius, Shu Uemura made history by introducing the first oil-based cleanser in Japan which is called the Unmask Cleansing Oil. 

It is an oil-based cleanser that he first used for film stars and makeup artists on the set. The cleansing oil then quickly became popular for it's exceptional reputation and now has become a signature product of the Shu Uemura brand!

If you consider yourself a beauty junkie then you must have heard (or even have tried) a cleansing oil. 

A cleansing oil is one of the best option for removing our makeup especially the stubborn makeup such as waterproof mascaras, thick layers of makeup, etc..

After reviewing some of it on my previous post, now it's time to review the rest of the goodies which is Missha The Style Defining Blusher, Missha Crystal Shine Rouge, and the Missha Anti-Trouble Patch.

Up first is the Missha The Style Defining Blusher. I received mine in the color #CR02 Light Coral.
It is a bright color in the pan but when applied on the skin it's not really that bright so you don't have to worry that you will have a very orange cheek ;p

As you can see above the color is a very bright orange on the pan but it is actually sheer when you applied it on the cheeks. If I use a brush then I have to layer it for several times until the color really shows, but when I used my finger to dab it on and then blend it on the cheek I only need a couple of swipes of it. So apparently my blush brush couldn't picked up the color really well. That's why I prefer using my finger to dab it on and blend it on the cheeks.

I love the color of this coral blush. Sometimes coral blush can look very orange on the cheek or sometimes it would look too dark, but I'd say that this coral color is pretty much adaptable. It's sheer but it's buildable, so you can control on how vibrant you want the colors to appear on your cheek. For a medium tan skin tone like mine this is a perfect coral color that's not too dark nor it is too bright. It's just perfect for daily use.

I like the packaging which is a cute transparant case, it's so pretty. It's small and comes with no brush but it doesn't matter since you can apply it with your finger.

Below is what the color looks like on my cheek when I wore it. The left picture below is without flash while the right one is taken with flash. I put on the blush-on with a finger and then blend it on my cheek with my fingers too:

I'm not really fond of vibrant-looking blushes so this is how much I like to put on my blush for daily makeup ;) - I hope you can see the blush clearly on the above photos. The staying power is medium because I have combi-oily skin, but overall I love this blush and been using it almost everyday now ever since I got it ;p

This Missha The Style Defining Blusher retails at IDR 103.900 on the Korea Buys website and there are other colors available too, from natural beige/brown color that would make a great bronzer, to the lovely pinks and corals for a touch of pretty color on the cheeks.

Okay, next up is the Missha Crystal Shine Rouge in the color #RD02. First of all, I really love the packaging of this lipstick! It is so pretty and very elegant-looking, I really adores it. Well, I am a packaging-fetish after all, my weakness is a cute/unique/pretty packaging ;p

The color looks very red on the tube but when applied on the lips, just like the blush-on above, it is quite sheer. Actually it is very sheer indeed, but it is also very buildable. I think it's quite a benefit because sometimes with a red lipstick you're afraid that the shade would be too pigmented that you'll get a very red color on your lips just from one light swipe of it. But with this lipstick you won't be worrying about that because the first swipe would be sheer enough so you can adjust the level of red that you want.

Because I have a naturally dark lips so I need to apply it for several times until I got the red color I want. But I imagine that a few swipes of this lipstick would be enough for those with fair skin or naturally pink-colored lips.

Oh by the way, aside from the pretty lipstick tube packaging I also love that the lipstick inside is engraved with the word "the style". It is a pretty touch that makes it more appealing and pleasing for the eyes ;)

This Missha Crystal Shine Rouge lipstick costs IDR 98.200 and it is suitable for those of you who want a lipstick with a lipgloss effect because this lipstick has a little bit satin glossy feeling to it, and it also has a moisturizing effect on the lips too. There are other choices of colors on the Korea Buys website and it is currently in stock now.

Last but not least, the Missha Speedy Solution Anti-Trouble Patch. This is a patch for those ugly trouble spots or acne on your face. This is my first time trying on a patch like this so I was excited to try these on. Fortunately, I had a big zit that week so I was able to try this patches to be able to give a proper review.

This Anti-Trouble Patch comes in a single sachet and inside it is a set of 10 clear round patches with different sizes ranging  from small to large. As you can see from the below photo, the patches are not totally clear because it has some kind of adhesive on the back of it, but it goes on clear once you put the patch on the skin.

I've tried using these patches on top of my big zit for a couple of days using different sizes just to try them on. As I stated above, it looks clear and transparent on the skin, and it's super duper thin too so it's almost like it's just a second layer of your skin. I let this patch sits on my face for a half day and soon after I put it on I didn't feel anything and would soon forget that it exists ;p

Other people would also not notice this patch from a far, but they will see it if they are standing close to your face. You can see from the photos down below on how clear it is on the skin.

And this is when I put it on top of my big zit:

I once tried to put on some bb cream and powder on top of it but it didn't work, so I mostly use this patch when I'm at home or on days when I don't wear makeup. Before I put on the patch my big zit was red and really prominent, and after I put off the patch the zit was less prominent and the redness was also reduced. It didn't deflate the zit instantly but it does make my big red zit less noticeable to others ;)

This Missha Speedy Solution Anti Trouble Patch is priced at IDR 57.900 at Korea Buys and it comes with 10 patches in one single sachet packaging. It contains Salicylic Acid and Tea Tree Oil for the treatment of the skin. Aside for the practicality I also love the different sizes it has, that way we can put it on depending on how big or small the troubled spot is ;p

So overall, I really love all the products that I got from Korea Buys, and as I have stated on my previous post; I would recommend all of the products to you. I'm saying this not because I have to, but because I did try them all out and really love them.

For you who didn't know, konjac sponge is a very popular cleansing sponge in Korea and South East Asia. It is made of natural fibres from the root of a plant called Konjac or Konnyaku, a plant native to Asia region. There's a research in Japan that has proven that these Konjac sponges can deeply cleanse without damaging the skin and are better than any normal wash cloth or wash sponges.

The first konjac sponge I've tried from My Konjac Sponge was the Water Drop Volcanic Stone Facial Sponge which I used several months ago. It's a pink-ish sponge suitable for dull looking skin. After 3 months of usage I found that it's really suitable for my oily-combination skin, it thoroughly cleans my face and it's so practical to use and gave great results.

This time I got the chance to try different types of sponges from My Konjac Sponge: the Water Drop Bamboo Charcoal which is suitable for oily skin that tends to get blackheads, spots and breakouts; and the 6 Wave Sponge which is the body sponge version:

As I mentioned on the title of this post, My Konjac Sponge now has a new packaging, complete with a simple instruction at the back, so for those of you first timers you won't get confused on how to properly use the konjac sponge.

Don't be alarmed if you buy a konjac sponge from My Konjac and then you find that the sponge inside is very damp. That's just how it is, because when left dry a konjac sponge can harden like a stone. That's why it must be soaked first with water before every use.


I actually like this new packaging better. It's more sleek and very interesting to look at. I also love the clear how-to instruction at the back that comes with cute graphics ;p

Okay, after seeing the new packaging above, now let's talk about the Water Drop Bamboo Charcoal Sponge first.

The Water Drop Bamboo Charcoal one is a black colored sponge and it is enriched with charcoal extracted from the best bamboos in Korea. According to the website this sponge is also effective for cleansing and eliminating blackheads around the T-zone. This sponge is also perfect for those who are active and spend good amount of time outside having to deal with dusts and dirt that could clog your pores if not cleansed properly.


My skin is combination oily and after using this particular konjac sponge for a few weeks I personally think that this bamboo charcoal one is really suitable for my skin type.

After trying the Volcanic Stone and then using this Charcoal one I'd say that both konjac sponges suits my combination oily skin, but at the moment I would prefer the charcoal one because right now my skin is more oily than dry, and using this regularly has helped me a lot with my complexion, making it look brighter, cleaner, and more radiant.

It also helps a lot with my blemishes, and keep the oil at bay. So far, I am loving it and been using it regularly, sometimes I used it with my face wash and sometimes I just use the sponge by itself.

As you can see from the back of the packaging above, using konjac sponges to clean your face has many benefits such as cleanses the skin pores, exfoliates skin, promotes cell growth, eliminates blackheads, prevents acne, etc..

Konjac Sponges is also well known for it's natural properties and for it's soft and gentle sponge that's very effective for cleansing. I have fallen in love with it since the first time I've tried it. It's very simple to use and it only took a few minutes for me to thoroughly cleanse my face in the morning or at night before I go to bed.

These konjac sponges can either be used alone or with a facial soap / cleanser. Either ways would bring great results to the skin.

Okay, now let's talk about the 6 Wave Sponge which is a body sponge..

If you have dry skin or just want to refresh your body by sloughing off dead skin cells then this is the tool for you. It is the equivalent of body scrubs and exfoliants but without the harsh scrubbing movement. 

Just like the konjac sponge for the face, this 6 Wave Body Sponge is also great to be used in the shower with or without a body wash. I use this almost everyday, I usually use it as it is in the morning, and then use it again with a body wash or shower gels on my night / afternoon shower.

I love using this body sponge because it leaves my skin silky smooth and feels lovely to the touch. It also doesn't give me dry feeling afterwards, and my skin would not feel tight at all after every shower. Even when I don't use any shower gels with this sponge my skin would feel thoroughly clean ^o^

This sponge also feels soft on the skin when I use it, and would make a good scrubber too. It has a different shape compared to the facial sponges, this one has a longer shape with wave design in the middle of it. The unique shape of it makes it easier to use for scrubbing all over the body.

My Konjac Sponge is 100% natural. Not only that their sponges are naturally sustainable, but they are also 100% biodegradable. They are completely environmentally-friendly too. The sponges contain No Colouring and No Additives.

I have been a konjac sponge believer ever since my first time trying it, I simply love it because of it's practicality and because of the great looking skin it gave me. If you haven't tried it out yet, then go on and try one that suits your needs. They also have sponges for Men and for babies too ;)

I just realized that although I have tried several kinds of skincare products from Korean brands but apparently I only have tried a few makeup products from Korean brands. I mostly tried eyeliners and lip products from Korean brands, but it was only a handful of them. I never tried the eyeshadows and blushes because most Korean brands usually have pastel colors eyeshadows and blushes that I thought were mostly suited for fair skin tones while mine is on the medium tan range. So I always thought that the colors would not show on my skin tone, and that's why I never bought them.

So when I received these korean makeup goodies I was a bit hesitant at first to try them out. But soon after I tried them I was surprised indeed!
It turns out that these korean makeup were awesome!
Not only that they "shows" on my skintone but the quality and the durability of the colors are pretty great too!

So a couple of weeks ago I received these goodies from Korea Buys, a local online shop that specialized in Korean stuffs. They offer Korean makeup, skincare, as well as fashion products. All their stuffs are directly from Korea so you will be guaranteed that they sell authentic products.

Now since there are a lot of goodies in the box so I have decided to split this review into two separate posts. Today I'm gonna review the Missha Triple Eyeshadow, Missha Mascara, and It's Skin Lip Gloss:

I have tried and loved Missha products before, especially the famous BB Cream but I never tried any of the colored makeup from Missha. So this is the very first time I tried them on and I am immediately hooked!

The quality of Missha products are great, all of Missha products that I have tried are very satisfying, including all the Missha stuffs that I received above. The eyeshadows were gorgeous, the mascara creates pretty eyelashes, the blusher is smooth and delicate, the lipstick has pretty packaging and color, and the anti-trouble patch is very practical.

Now, let's review them one by one...

Up first is Missha The Style Triple Perfection Eyeshadow. Mine is in #5 Grape Purple, a triple color in a gradation of purple shade.

This eyeshadow has a combination of Flower Complex, Pearl powder, Marine Collagen, Green tea extract, Aloe extract, and Argan oil as it's ingredients. All of them are good for reducing irritation, and moisturizing, tightening as well as softening the skin around the eyes. 

This eyeshadow is small so you can easily tuck it in your makeup case or even wallet ;p

You can use this eyeshadow with or without an eyeshadow brush. You can use your fingertip to apply the color (or all 3 colors in it) or use the tip of a small makeup brush and blend the colors on your eyelid.

This Missha Triple Perfection Eyeshadow's price is IDR 59.400 at Korea Buys, and it is currently ready stock. There are other colors available too, all of them are pretty  ;)

As you can see from the photo above, the color pay-off are pretty great. Usually pastel colors won't show easily on my eyelid, but the colors on this Missha eyeshadow is very pigmented I don't even need a primer to make the colors shows! Pretty amazing for an affordable eyeliner!

The texture is soft and smooth when applied to the skin. It also has a little bit of shimmers, not glittery, more like satin. It lasted pretty long on my oily eyelid, and I also love that it's not powdery so that means less "fall out". Overall, it's just simply perfect, both for day or night use.

I really love this eyeshadow because it looks pretty on the packaging as well as on the eyelid. I also love how I don't need a primer to get the colors shows up, so I'm thinking of getting them in another colors now ;p


Okay, next up is the Missha M Super Extreme Waterproof Mascara (for Volume & Curling).

I am a self-proclaimed mascara junkie so I love trying on different mascaras. I would usually look for mascaras that has a volumizing effect, and I can say that this mascara from Missha can give you that volume as well as great curling effect all at once!

Just check out the unique wand below! I think the unique shape of the wand helps create voluminous effect while separating the lashes without clumping it.


This oil-gel based mascara is infused with a silicone resin layer that makes it waterproof and sweat-proof. The setting power is high, it is long-lasting and has "no clumping" formula. It also has other ingredients such as dipanthenol and phyto-collagen which helps nourish and moisturize lashes.

When I tried it on, my lashes would curl up like they never curled before ;p And it also gave volume that makes my lashes stand out. It also feels light and stays on all day without smudging. I also love how it seems to separate my lashes because it does not clumps up upon application. It is waterproof but it's easy to remove with a medium strength eye makeup remover or cleansing oil.

I recommend this mascara for those who have oily eyelid because this one stays on and did not smudge on my oily eyelid, and it is sweat-proof too, perfect for the tropical climate of our country ;)


Now, let's move on to ITs SKIN Color Play Pocket Lip Gloss.
This cute lip gloss is very practical to bring around because of the small shape of it, and they come in pretty colors too.

Mine is in the color #PK01 Hot Star Pink which sometimes describes as a candy pink color, but in reality it is more like a pale milky pink color in the tube.


This is my first time trying on ITs SKIN product and so far I like the quality of this lip gloss. It doesn't feel sticky upon application and it also spread evenly on the lips surface unlike most lip glosses.

It also gives out a natural healthy shine on your lips, so it would not give you shimmers, glitters, or an over-dosed shine factor that makes you look like you just ate some fried snacks ;p This gives you a smooth looking lips with natural glossy shine that makes your lips looks healthy instead of "shiny".

I have a dark lip color so a pale pink color like this one usually would not show on my lips, that's why I love to layer it with other lipstick or with a lip liner (sometimes I fill my lips with lip liner and then smudge it a bit to create a natural color).

This lip gloss would look great as a base or as a top layer of your lipstick. It will give your lips the perfect finishing touch without that yucky sticky feeling of a regular lip gloss. I simply love it.
