From My Stash: Current Favorite Natural & Bold Lipsticks
11:10:00 PM
I love using lip glosses and always thought that my lipgloss stash is bigger than my lipstick stash, but I was surprised one day when I was cleaning out my vanity, because I found out that I actually own more lipstick than lip glosses ;p
So obviously I love lipstick too. After looking at my collection I found out that I have many neutral colored lipsticks as well as bold colored lipsticks. So to sum it up, I actually love both shades, natural/neutral and bold. If anybody asked me which shades do I like the most, I would answer: both of them ;)
Amongst my natural and bold colored lipstick collection, here are my current most worn / favorite lipsticks:
I have an assortment of brands in there, from local Indonesian brand to Korean brand to International brand. From high-end brand to affordable ones. I don't have any favorite brand in terms of lip products. I am the type of person who loves trying everything out so I like trying on different brands of lipstick. I also love trying on different colors and shades as long as it would still suits my skin tone ;p
I have medium dark skin so I tend to go with nude to soft pink shades for my natural look, but I also love to wear bolder colors such as deep/true red, fuchsia, or orange for a more defined look. I'm also currently loving brown colors for lips because it still goes with my skin tone if I chose the right shade of brown ;p
Let's start with Neutral/natural colors first. Below are my most worn natural shade lip colors. For natural color options I mostly used a light brown / nude colors as well as a light pink shade for everyday look or to balance out a heavy smokey-eye makeup.
Naturals:

Revlon Superlustruos Lipstick in #117 Almost Nude
Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in Dark Beige
Caring Colors Moisturize Rich Lip Color in #16 Brown Sugar
Revlon Lip Butter in #080 Strawberry Shortcake
Every girl would know that it's hard to find the best nude shade for
your lips and skin tone. The wrong shade of nude would make your face
looks pale, or worst: make you look like you're sick or something ;p
After a few tries of
finding the right nude shade, I found the perfect nude color for my lips
which is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick above. It has
been my go-to nude lip color for years now. Currently I found a similar
one which is the Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick above. I also included my lightest pink shade lip color which is the Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake.
Swatches (from left to right):
Caring Colors Brown Sugar, Revlon Superlustrous Almost Nude, Revlon Lip Butter Strawberry Shortcake, Shu Uemura Dark Beige
Those are my current favorite natural shades of lipstick. They look a little bit darker when swatched on my hands but in reality they look pretty sheer on my lips (because I have pigmented lips). Among the four lipstick above, the Caring Colors one is the most sheer one and Revlon Almost Nude is the most opaque one.
As for the bolder shades or bold colored lipsticks, below are my current top picks. The color range is from coral to red and brown. I have pigmented lips (dark lips) so I love wearing bold colored lipsticks because they are the ones who would usually shows in photos ;p
Bold:

Missha The Style Crystal Shine Rouge in RD02
MUA Lipstick in #16 Nectar
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense #42
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Spice is Nice
In an ideal world, every makeup junkie should own a true red lipstick. But picking up the right shade of red lipstick is like picking up the right nude shade for your lips and skin tone. You must try to pick the right shade of red that would accentuate your skin tone and not looking like a clown. Trust me, although they all look the same but there are actually different kinds of red shades out there. My perfect option is the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense #42. I think it's a universal red shade that would be suitable for most skin tone.
I'm also loving coral and orange colors lately, but I still haven't found an orange shade that I really love. I do have a coral shade of lipstick that I like which is the MUA lipstick above, it's a medium bright coral shade that looks pretty both in swatch and when applied.
Swatches (from left to right):
Missha Crystal Shine Rouge RD02, MUA Nectar, MUFE #42, MAC Spice is Nice
From all of the four lipsticks above, the most sheer one is the Missha one - but it's very buildable so you can go sheer or bold with this one. The most opaque and the boldest one is definitely the MUFE Rouge Artist Intense #42.
So that's it for my current favorite natural and bold colored lipsticks. After sorting out my collection I found out that I actually have more bold colors than natural ones so I would definitely wish for more natural colored lipsticks to add to my stash.
