REVLON Photo Ready Primer + Shadow, BB Cream Skin Perfector, and Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel

5:59:00 AM

I was invited to a Revlon event a while ago but unfortunately I couldn't attend because one of my relative just passed away at that time. But the Revlon team has kindly sent me the products that were being launched and introduced at the event. The products were part of their Photo Ready line which is my most favorite Revlon range of products!

I think Revlon Photoready range is pretty great, especially for you who loves taking pictures ;p I already fell in love with their Photoready Color Correcting Primer and Two Way Powder Foundation (TWC) which I have mentioned over and over again in several of my posts including my Monthly Favorites post. I also adore the concept of their Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup which is a foundation in a mousse texture.

Thanks to the Revlon team I got the chance to try out the Photoready Primer + Shadow, Photoready BB Cream, and the Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel. All came within this cute little glass jar with festive lid on top of it ;)

Loving the cute jar with festive lid ;)

Inside the cute glass jar I found three of their newest items from the Photoready line which are: the Primer + Shadow palette, the BB Cream, and the Colorstay Nail Polish. Unfortunately I didn't get the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain which is one of the product that I am most curious about, but as soon as I got it from the counter and tried it out I'll let you know how it goes ;)

Okay, so here are the three items that I received inside the cute little glass jar:
I love the simple and sleek packaging, do you?

Now let's go straight to the review, shall we?
First up is the Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow. It is a makeup palette that comes complete with 3 shades of eyeshadows, one primer, and one highlighter shade.

This is one of the item from the Photoready line that I was curious about ever since I came to know about this new Revlon range. I love palettes, especially a complete palette such as this one.

They have several shades selections of this Primer + Shadow palettes and each palette has a name that is inspired from types of paintings such as Renaissance, Water Color, Pop Art, etc. The one that I received is one of the most neutral / nude shade of the collections, and it's called the Impressionist (#505) :

The Impressionist is a neutral / nude / brown-beige shade with a light pink sparkly highlighter. The other neutral shade palette from the Photoready line is the Metropolitan palette that comes with a brown-ish highlighter.

First of all, I really like the packaging. It's simple and sleek, with a clear part on the front so you can see all the colors inside. And it also has a unique design on the inside part which resembles an eye shape.

I also like how they put the instruction at the back on how to wear the colors. This is perfect for the newbies, and the instruction at the back is very clear too, complete with numbered illustrations so you won't get confused with all the shades. Thumbs up for this.

So, as I told you earlier above, in this palette you'll get 5 shades which includes 3 eyeshadows, one primer, and one sparkly highlighter. One of the eyeshadows can also be used as eyeliner so you pretty much got everything you need in this one super practical palette. This palette also comes with 2 double-edged sponge applicators so you probably won't need any brushes, a very practical palette to bring in your bag.

The color pigmentation is actually pretty great. The three eyeshadows have medium to strong pigmentation, the primer is also pretty decent and you can use this with your other eyeshadows too, but the highlighter is a bit chalky. The highlighter also have some sparkle materials in it but nothing too much, it also didn't fall out easily on me and the sparkle is actually pretty subtle as long as you just dab a little bit of it. So overall, I really like this palette and am curious with other colors available especially the Bohemian palette with a bright bold shade ;)

Below is the swatches from the Impressionist Primer + Shadow for you. Starting from top to bottom in the palette, the first left swatch in the photo below is the top color on the palette. And the last swatch on the photo below is the highlighter which is the right bottom color on the palette:

Now after you see the swatches above, let's see how it turned out in my eyes. On the photo below I hope you can see the true colors on my eyes. The light was too bright the day I took the photos so I'm afraid you couldn't see the true beauty of the colors on my eyes because the bright light just washed the colors out. In reality, the colors are more gorgeous than the photos below. These shades are just perfect for everyday wear, and it lasted quite well too.

My eyes seems brighter especially because of the highlighter. I love the top shade on the palette the most, and also the highlighter which gives me a little shimmery sparkle on the eyes ;)

Now on to the next product to review: Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector.
I was pretty excited to see this new Revlon BB Cream because I love using BB Cream so I was curious to try this out.

The Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector is a light BB Cream with moisturizing properties and a broad spectrum SPF 30 which is great! I love makeup with an SPF because it's practical. You can wear your makeup and protect your skin from the sun. It also means I could skip sunscreen (which I always tend to forgot to wear).

Just like the other Photoready products, this BB Cream Skin Perfector also uses a photochromatic pigments that would reflects light and blends in to help erase every flaw to achieve that perfect skin look.

The texture of this BB Cream is more of a light consistency, it's not runny or sticky. It also feels very well-moisturized on my face as it has a moisturizing properties in it. It is also very easy to blend in and I can use either a brush or my fingers to use it, both applications would create the same great results.

This BB Cream is available in three shades: Light, Light/Medium, and Medium.
I got mine in Light/Medium. When I tried it on, at first it was too dark for my skin tone, but all I have to do is just waited for a little while until it's all settled in, and after several minutes I can see that it started to blend in with my actual skin tone. The final result is a light to medium coverage in a shade that blends in very well with my real skin tone, and an overall smoother appearance.

Although it took a while longer to settled but once it settled you would see that it looks very natural on your skin. I usually put on my Revlon Touch & Glow Loose Powder as a finishing powder to set it, and it has been a great combination. I have combination oily skin so I always put a finishing powder on top of everything to help keep my makeup stays put a little longer and to also help keeps the oil at bay.

Of course you can build the coverage up by adding more layers of the BB Cream if you want more coverage, but for me a layer is enough for everyday wear because I don't want to look all made-up during the day when I don't have any special occasions to attend to ;p

On the below photo you'll see that the coverage is light to medium as you can still see all of the imperfections on my skin:

Overall, I think this BB Cream is great for everyday use because it has light consistency and it doesn't make my skin dry. My face seems to stay moist when wearing it and the fact that it has SPF 30 makes it perfect to wear daily especially during the day.

Last but not least, the Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel.
This nail polish range is another new innovation from Revlon which can give you a final look that resemble a gel nail polish look. Gel nail polish look is pretty much trending right now because of it's high shine gloss and durability, and this Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel range can give you exactly that.

This nail polish range can give a shiny finish with vibrant colors and a longwear durability (just like it's name suggests). This nail polish can actually lasts up until 11 days (if used with Revlon Colorstay Base & Top Coat).

This nail polish range are available in 12 shades complete with a Base and Top Coat, and I got mine in Velvet Rope (#130) which is the only red shade in the collection.

Now please forgive me if I couldn't say much about this nail polish because I'm not really a nail polish girl. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing those cute and colorful nail arts and designs on other beauty blogs, I even have a nail polish app on my iPad where I can color my (fake) digital nails and decorate them freely (;p) but in real life I just don't really wear nail polish because I simply can't put them right ;p

Yes, I'm pretty horrible and sloppy when it comes to nail polish. I could never get the polish smooth and neat-looking. It would go all over the place and there would be stains everywhere. The edges are inconsistent and a lot of it would seeps in to the cuticle, it's just ghastly and looks like a 6 year old just put on nail polish on my hands ^o^ - and that's why I usually steer clear of wearing nail polish unless someone put them on for me.

But still, I'm attracted to nail polishes especially if they have vibrant colors and/or cute artsy designs. But anyway, we're here to talk about this Revlon nail polish and not about my inability to put on a neat polish on my nails.

So first of all, I kinda love this red shade / Velvet Rope shade. It's not a true bright red, but rather a darker true red so when I use this color it's not too vibrant or looks bloody red. The color is just gorgeous, and it's true, they shine and makes my nails a lot prettier than it actually are ;p

What I love about this nail polish is how smooth the formula is, applying a layer of coat is easy even for a beginner like me. I could get an even layer of nail polish in just one stroke of the brush, awesome. And it does have a gel-like finishing to it. Below is the photo of me wearing the nail polish. Please do excuse my messy application (>__<)

Those are just only a layer of the nail polish, how vibrant is the color, right? Even for just a layer. The color comes through, and it's very shiny and makes my nails looks pretty and elegant. Application is quite smooth and although it took several minutes to fully dried but once it's dried it could lasts for days. Mine lasts for a few days because I don't wear any base or coat, and I do a lot of things with my hands, and I am a very sloppy person. So usually nail polish only lasts about 3-4 days on me before it started to get chipped off due to a lot of hands activity and being careless and sloppy all the time, but this ones stay through without chipping for around a week time, so yay for that! :D

So that's it for the reviews. You can get all these products at the Revlon counter near you, and here are the price list of each of the product above:

Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow Palette: IDR 125.000,-
Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector: IDR 85.000,-
