A couple of weeks ago I was also invited by Vanity Trove (the beauty box service) for a lunch gathering featuring a mini NYX makeup demo. I asked a couple of my blogger friends to come with me as the invitation allows us to bring friends. 

As you might probably know from my previous posts, I am a beauty box lover. I love finding surprises in a beauty box that were sent to us every month, but Vanity Trove is a little bit different than other beauty box subscription services out there.

At the lunch gathering, Melissa & Harumi (the representatives from Vanity Trove Indonesia) explained to us about the new concept of Vanity Trove. As I mentioned above, they are having new changes and their current service is different than the usual beauty box service. 

Currently Vanity Trove Indonesia is allowing their customers to choose and pick their own items to be included in the beauty box! So you won't get any surprises in your box but instead you'll get what you want in every box. 

So if you subscribe to them, you would get to choose 6-8 samples from the options that are available for you every month. The sample options would be personally picked for you based on your beauty profile, so they make sure that you would only get samples that are suitable for your skin type / preferences. And they also change/add new samples every week so you would get a variations of samples to choose from. 

Although I love trying out beauty boxes because I like the element of surprise in it, but this new concept from Vanity Trove also interest me because I can choose my own samples from the list of sample options that are already personalized for me. It's actually kinda nice to be able to know what you will get in your beauty box before they were sent. It's a different concept which would attract those who would like to know what they spent their money on ;)

If you're like me who love the surprise effect from beauty boxes then don't think that Vanity Trove would lose your interest, you can still get that curiosity feeling / element of surprise from wondering what samples would you be able to choose this month. As I told you above, the personalized sample options are always changing and every week there's new samples to choose from. So that alone is enough to satisfy my thirst for surprise ;)

Aside from that, Vanity Trove website now have changed into a beauty portal where you can follow your friends, type your status, write and read product reviews, create a wish list, as well as interact with other members, all within one platform. You can even use hashtags and connect your profile to your Facebook account to find friends. 

In short, the new website allows members to interact with each other as well as doing a lot of activities, mainly like what you do on Facebook. If you still haven't seen the website, go check out the new Vanity Trove to see what I'm talking about ;)

Meanwhile, there were also a makeup demo from NYX at the luncheon. NYX are releasing their new makeup box called the Parallel World box make up kit inspired by the movie Mortal Instruments "City of Bones".

The box and makeup kit has a sultry mysterious appeal which I adore, and inside it are six pieces of makeup that can get you a complete makeup look inspired by the two female heroines in the movie: Clary and Isabel.

The movie itself is about shadow hunters, a group of fictional warriors whose job is to chase and slay all the evils in the world. Two of the shadow hunters are Clary and Isabel who have their own characters and style. This Parallel World box from NYX have everything you need to create either Clary's innocent look for your everyday makeup, or Isabel's sultry face that's perfect for a night look.

As you can see above, the box include a 6 color smokey eyeshadow palette, a pink-ish blush, a matte lip cream, black liquid eyeliner, a jumbo eye pencil in a gorgeous shade, and a Frou-Frou volumizing mascara (which I'm dying to try because of the ultra cute name ;p).

The makeup demo also showed us a "day" and "night" look using the Parallel Worlds box. The makeup on the model is gorgeous and I also gained a couple of makeup tips and tricks from the NYX makeup artist that were doing the demo.

Don't forget you might also get NYX samples at Vanity Trove. In fact, there are currently NYX samples on my sample options page right now! So if you subscribe to Vanity Trove right now you might get some NYX samples of your own before they ran out of it ;p
