A while ago I was invited to attend the event launching of the Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume. It was held in front of Metro Pondok Indah Mall, where they set up a stage in a red + gold combination, complete with a big red throne in the middle.

The event started with a flash mob dance and a performance before the MC started to introduce the Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume along with special promotion deals that you can get at that time. I never tried or sniffed any Katy Perry perfume before, so I didn't know what it would smells like. Usually celebrities perfumes would not catch my interest that much but the ones from Katy Perry surely catches my fancy because of the unique bottles alone.

The first Katy Perry perfume was in the shape of a cat (which is too cute!), and now this second perfume of her also has a unique shape in which it cannot stand by itself (you'll see why if you keep reading this post).

The stage at the event was decked in red + gold (as well as the dresscode) to resemble the Katy Perry Killer Queen's perfume bottle and packaging. The whole concept is like a royal queen that rules with her own throne and style. I quite like this theme because "royalty" is one of my forever interest ;p

Katy Perry is collaborating with Coty (a renowned French perfume house), in creating this lovely perfume. According to the information I gathered, the Killer Queen Eau de Parfum is an addictive aroma that asks for attention. It is a bewitching and indulging aroma, perfect for a Queen who has the power over her throne while being extremely feminine and flirty. She is empowered and invincible, headstrong and beautiful, lethally gorgeous as well as regally restless. She is also intoxicating and charmingly playful.

Now I'm gonna try to review the perfume from its packaging and scent. FYI, this perfume is now available in Indonesia (launched last month in November).

I love both the outer Packaging as well as the perfume bottle itself. The packaging box has a dark red and gold shade with some sort of insignia at the top which resemble a royal stamp. The pattern on the box also reminds me of a red velvet crown with gold ornaments that used to be worn by European kings and queens in the old times.

The inside of the packaging box is also adorned with gold insignia over a white background, which makes this box even more special. I love red so I couldn't just toss away this box, so I think I'm gonna keep the box as well ;)

The bottle itself is very unique as I don't own any perfume bottle that looks like this ;) You know how I love unique packaging, right? So this unique concept is right up my alley. The bottle shape is inspired by a Queen’s scepter, complete with a crown at the top of the cap. The jewel-shaped bottle is really pretty and the burgundy red fluid inside has a little ombre effect at the bottom which makes it more mysterious and alluring.

The cap of the bottle has a shape of a gold crown that showcase a custom crest that captures Katy Perry’s playful essence. Although the cap is made of a very thin material but the overall look of the bottle is quite elegant yet holds a little bit of mystere.

As you can see from the photos, the bottle can not stand on its own. That is the unique part of it. Actually this is my first perfume that can't stand upright. But it looks gorgeous just by laying on it's side. It reminds me of a Queen that spend her days laying in a long chair, wrapped in burgundy red velvet robe, playing around with her scepter ^o^

This looks gorgeous on the vanity and can double as a decorative item as well. I also love the details on the crest that depicts two cats in their regal pose. You might not know it but I'm a crazy cat lady so the cats detail is definitely a nice touch for me. Oh, and the cats might have been a continuous theme from Katy Perry's first cat-shaped perfume.

Now let's talk about the Scent. The main scent of this perfume is Red Velvet Flower, that opens with top notes of wild berry, dark plum, and bergamot. Followed with jasmine sambac and plumeria that wrapped the red velvet flower nicely as the heart notes. And then after a while it would blend into a background of cashmeran, patchouli heart, and liquid praline.

My first response when sniffing this perfume for the first time was "sweet, fun, fresh, and flirty". I could imagine a young woman who is confident and strong, with a playful side and cheerful attitude. A modern fragrance that would bring out the charming and fun playful attitude in you.

I like this perfume as it is a sweet fun scent with a little bit of fresh uplifting aroma that leaves a sensual trail after a few hours. Kinda like a fresh fruity floral scent to me, which can be worn for daily activities because it is not heavy at all. A bit generic but I can see that this would be a popular scent to a wider array of age, from older teens to young women in their early 30s who are still young at heart ...

As a beauty box enthusiasts I have heard about Vanity Trove since a long time ago. I first read about it from Malaysian and Singaporean beauty blogs, and then when VT first came here in Indonesia I was pretty excited. But I was not ready to purchased it at first because I was a little bit overwhelmed with the rest of  other beauty box subscriptions. But when VT changed their service into a customized box where we can choose for ourselves, I just couldn't wait to try it.

I've waited for a while until I was satisfied with the products in my box before I finally hit the "check-out" button. You may remember from my previous post when I was invited to a Vanity Trove event that VT currently has changed its overall look. Now you can actually engaged with other users and VT members on the VT platform. You can now also uses tags and mention your friends at the platform, you can also follow each other or follow VT Top Beauty Influencers, plus you can search for specific product to know the reviews from other users/members/influencers.

And what makes VT different than other beauty box subscriptions is: at VT you are allowed to choose and pick the items that you want to be included in your beauty box! So in every box that you'll receive you won't get any surprises or random stuffs, but instead you'll get what you already chose :) 

For every box you can choose up to 6-8 samples from the product options that are available for you on your account tab. The product options would be personally picked for you based on your beauty profile so it's guaranteed that you would only get sample options that are suitable for your skin type / preferences. 

Also, they always add new samples every week so you would get a variations of samples to choose from. If you don't like your options this week then you could wait for next week to see what new samples would be available to you. But be careful, most of the samples ran out fast ;p

So after choosing my products very carefully, I finally made up my mind and satisfied with my options. I was lucky because they have Avene products last week so I hurried up and add them to my box and click "check-out" before the samples ran out ;)

Delivery was super fast with Vanity Trove Indonesia. I think it arrived less than 2 days after I ordered it. And you can order it at any time, with no due date or whatsoever.

I initially was eyeing the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protectant Spray but the sample ran out so fast I couldn't grab my hands on it, so I was left with the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo which I was also curios to try out. As you can see, I filled my box with Avene products that were available for me to choose. I haven't tried any Avene products because they're pretty expensive and they are just recently available here in Indonesia, so I was excited to get these samples to try out.

One other thing that I got is the Pleats Please perfume vial from Issey Miyake which I also curious to try out because I am in "trying-out-perfume" mood right now, collecting and sampling lots of perfumes and sweet smelling fragrances out there.

I'm very satisfied with my box because these are all the products that I really wanted to try. I'm also thankful for the surprise bonus extra of the Swanky Society jewelry set.

My skin is rather sensitive right now, I don't know what caused it but it's getting thin and dry. Usually my skin is combination oily, but right now it is more into "sensitive-dry". Maybe my skin is experiencing an extreme temperature change because currently I am in the middle of moving out from a landed house to an apartment unit so maybe my skin is not used to the different temperature caused by the height. So I was hoping that these Avene products can help my skin a little bit because they are mostly for sensitive skin. I also have used the Pleats Please perfume which I also like because it smells really nice, sweet, and girly. Perfect for everyday wear :)

That's what I got in my Lolabox this month. I am most excited with the Lady Gaga FAME perfume because I am currently into perfumes nowadays so I like to collect them and sample their scents. This one is really really unique, as unique as the mother monster herself ;p As the information said, this perfume sprayed as a black fluid which then disperse almost immediately into an invincible form. I have never come accross a perfume with a black fluid like this one so I was mesmerized when I sprayed it on my wrist and I saw that it's a black fluid which turned invincible right away. Wowza! Regarding the scent, I can only describe it as a sweet aromatic incense smell with smoky tones. Other bloggers said that they can smell apricot and blackberry as the main scent.

I also noticed that some girls were excited about the Bioderma sample because it is just recently available here. I am also pretty satisfied with the SkinFood Gold Caviar Lifting Eye Serum because I'm gonna run out of my morning eye serum and haven't bought the replacement yet, so I'm glad I got this in my box because this certainly gonna replace my current Orlane Anagenese 25+ First-Time Fighting Care Eye Contour.

Anyway, for this month it seems that most of the subscribers received almost the same products inside their Lola boxes, but I think the difference would be in the SkinFood serum and the Brad products. I noticed that there are two other serums from SkinFood and two different Brad products that they distribute in their boxes, so I guess it depends on your skin type and needs.

I am still struggling with the bad internet connection as I am currently staying at my new place where the internet is still kinda slow, so please excuse lack of posts this week, as well as late posting of several product reviews and recent event reports. Hopefully I'll get this internet thingy sorted out before the end of the month.

Meanwhile, since I can only posted short posts due to the super slow internet connection so here's an FOTD from a few days ago when I wore a pink-themed outfit. I decided to match my makeup with that day's outfit so I chose an overall pink look instead ^__^ - (I will also post the pink OOTD shortly on the next post).

I used to never wear pink eyeshadows because usually pastel colors won't show up on my lids. But thanks to eyeshadow primer and bases that makes these soft shades finally show its true colors on darker eyelids like my skin tone ;) 

This time I didn't wear any primer, but I use NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base for my pink eyeshadow. I love using the Milk Jumbo Eye Pencil for an eyeshadow base especially if I'm using soft pastel colors because the white shade of the jumbo eye pencil would bring out the soft pastel colors more prominently. It is my number one eyeshadow base right now, I even featured it in my Monthly Favorites post.

If you follow me on my social media accounts you might have noticed that sometimes I posted there about several great deals that I found while shopping so that everybody else can gain some info about that too, because I personally love sale info especially if it includes big sales/discount information of my favorite stores. So that's why I like to post about the deals that I got while shopping. And since I got a warm response from my friends and lovely socmed followers so I thought I'll post about it on my blog too ;)

For instance, not a long time ago I scored these items below with an interesting discount offers:

I got this black flats at H&M around a week after their big opening here in Jakarta. I didn't know that they were on sale. I was buying some basic tees at H&M when I saw these flats for around IDR 129,000 ($12) which is already the cheapest among other shoes at the rack, so I add this to my shopping bag and head out to the cashier where they suddenly told me that the shoes have the wrong tag and that the actual price is IDR 99,000 ($9) which is even cheaper! Yay for lucky shopper ^___^

After attending an event at the mall I spent my time looking around the stores while waiting for my hubby to pick me up. I walked into Zara just to look around and spend some time, but then noticed a sale sign in a few small racks at the back of the store so I decided to look. I couldn't believe my luck when among the usual basic tees that are usually always on sale, there was a knit cardigan that were deeply discounted to only IDR 129,000 ! Usually knitwears are more expensive even when discounted, so of course I snagged the only Small size that was available on that rack and bring it to the cashier right away. I broke my shopping ban for this cardigan because the offer was too good to pass up ^o^

Book stores are one of our favorite store to hang around, so when I was walking with my hubby at the mall towards our way to the basement parking area I saw a Sale sign in a corner of the mall that was nearly hidden from all the hectic of the main hallway. As a woman we never missed a Sale sign, no matter how small the sign is, isn't it true? ;p Anyway, I told hubby that it was a book bazaar from Kinokuniya, so of course we were both excited to see it. Hubby didn't found anything but I am so lucky to have found this Who What Wear book that I have been longing to have since-like-ever, and it was less than $100,000 (less than $10)!! It was a great bargain considering the retail price of this book is $17,69 on Book Depository. It's a totally blind luck!

Another deal that I found are these goodies that I scored from the Kids area at Metro dept store in PIM 1. I was looking for a birthday gift for my niece in the kids area where I suddenly got stopped with a rack full of vintage-themed goodies like these - on 50% Off! I stopped at the rack and spend about 20 minutes browsing and looking around because they are so cheap I couldn't decide which ones to buy. When my hubby finally came to rescue me (LOL) I finally made up my mind (with the help of hubby's assistant) and only chose these 2 items because I am currently on shopping ban. I chose an ipad case (that was only IDR 60,000-ish) and a medium big travel bag for toiletries and such - both in a gorgeous vintage designs which I love.

So those are my recent purchases that I scored with deep discounts that I am lucky to have found. I love finding out sales and good offers, and I just want to share those info to you incase you are looking for discount offers too. Who doesn't love sales, right?

A more recent haul that I made just a few days ago is a much needed large black bag from the Nine West store that is currently having a discount! Yes, the Nine West store here in Jakarta are having Sale signs on their door so you might want to check them out because I got this for 50% discount ^___^

So I got a M.A.P voucher that I won from a blogging contest a while ago, and I am eyeing Nine West and Steve Madden because both brands are under M.A.P company. But Steve Madden weren't having much sales so I turned to Nine West instead.

Please be aware though, that every counter of Nine West do not have the same exact products, so what you see in store A might not be available in store B, and vice versa. I have been in and out of several Nine West stores all over Jakarta malls to find the right bag that I want to spend my vouchers on. I also found that not every counter has the best sales items. For instance, I didn't find any exciting products on several Nine West counters except for the ones in PIM 2 (that has lots of cute shoes on sale for 50% off!), and the one in Gandaria City (with more bags options that were on sale). 

I noticed that the counter in PIM 2 do not have many bags and they have more options on the footwear instead, where as the counter in Gandaria City and Plaza Senayan have general amounts of bags and footwear. My favorite store is the one at Gandaria City because they have the most variety of bags on sale compared to other counters. And that is where I got this black beauty for 50% discount.

I've been wanting a new black bag that I can wear in turn with my black Ciciero bag which already have more than a good use ;) I also am having a spending ban lately so thanks to the vouchers I can get this bag for relatively cheap price. With a 50% discount + voucher from MAP, the total price that I only need to pay is only the 1/8 of the original price. Score! ^___^

I personally think that Nine West have good quality bags and shoes, and I think they frequently have sales going on so you better keep on checking their stores for Sale signs ;)

UPDATED: I just went to the mall yesterday and noticed the up-to-70%OFF Sale on Guess boutiques! Especially the accessories counter at Plaza Indonesia is having lots of bags, footwear, belts, and also several watches that are on Sale for 30 to 50 % off ! Go there now ;)

It is now near the end of this year so the weather has been colder in most continents including here in my country. Although we don't have winter but we do experience cold rainy season during the last months of the year. It is actually my favorite fashion season because I can play with layers since I can't stand cold weather. 

Speaking about cold weather layers, I am beginning to stock up some sweater and cardigans to keep my body warm because I hate being cold, my body would shivers and it feels like I'm sick if I got over-exposed with cold temperatures.

This post is still part of the KoreaBuys series that I got a few weeks ago. If you remember I got three different products from KoreaBuys and I have reviewed two of them (the Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil & Etude House Shinee Be My Princess Perfume Mist). Now it's time to review the last one from the bunch!

I'm sure some of you have heard or tried this product before because this is actually an old time favorites from Tony Moly. I remember it's always sold out whenever I want to buy it, maybe because the super cute packaging makes them very popular. This Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub is a coffee-scented face scrub that comes in a unique coffee / cappuccino cup!

You might noticed that this probably looks different because Tony Moly seems to re-packaged this product currently, so it  might look different with the old Latte Art Cappuccino Scrub that you might have seen around. This one has a clear glass-lookalike container with swirly white/brown pattern on the lid that represents a creamy cappuccino in a glass.

It also has a little spatula that were disguised as a "spoon" that were tucked inside the lid ;p - This is the cutest face scrub packaging I've ever seen so far, and that is the number one reason why I wanted to get this product at the first time. I'm a sucker for everything that has cute and unique packaging.

According to the information on the box, this Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub is a color changing-cream that functions as a scrub by massaging it on to the skin. It contains active ingredients of coffee and milk extracts which works to remove dry, flaky dead skin cells, as well as impurities from the skin while providing nutrition to the skin.

The warm sensation produced when rubbing the scrub on the face along with the color-changing scrub removes impurities deep in the pores. The tiny grains within the scrub makes the skin smooth and glossy, as well as adding firmness to the skin and slim the facial contour of the face.

First of all, I really love the packaging (of course I do!). Tony Moly is one of the popular Korean brands that always makes products in the most cute / unique packaging. You can see from above photos how cute is this face scrub is.

The actual size is small, almost the size of my little hands/palm. But the product inside is packed full to the brim of the container. It's not actually made of real glass, but it was made to look like a glass cup. From the transparent container you can see that the actual product has a deep brown color with some granules mixed in.

Once you open the lid, the product looks like above photo. Remember that I mention about the little spatula that was tucked inside the lid to represent a "spoon" to stir the coffee? You can see the spatula on above photo too. I love scrubs that include spatula in it so that it would be less messy and more hygienic to scoop out the product from the packaging. So this is a plus point for me.

The formula of the scrub itself is like a thick soft gel in shades of dark brown, with little white-ish granules in it. The texture is kinda like honey, I feel like slathering a layer of honey on my skin whenever I put this scrub on my face ;)

This smells like milk coffee indeed. I love coffee and I also enjoy the scent of coffee, so I would almost automatically buy any product that has coffee scent to it, LOL. The coffee scent in this product is not strong so you can only sniff it from the packaging. 

It felt nice on the skin and I would feel the warming sensation upon applying it to my skin. The warming sensation means that the product is working. The warming sensation is something unusual indeed and I actually enjoyed it after the 2nd use. The warm feeling would not last long and will be gone in a few minutes. If this is your first time using this kind of product then you will only have to just get used to it. Don't worry it's not hot or burning, it's just a nicely warm feeling.

I like to spread it on my whole face and neck area, and then scrub it off slowly and gently. The scrub is not abrasive at all so you won't feel any hard scrubbers at all, but once you rinsed it all off you would find a clearer skin with moist and plumped feeling all over.

Once you massaged the scrub on your face it would slowly turned from dark brown color to a pale brown (almost white-ish) color. After that, I would wash it all off and pat dry my face, and then continue with my usual moisturizer.

Overall, I like using this non-abrasive soft scrub once a week to get rid of those dead skin cells and dry patches, as well as other impurities on my skin. When used regularly, this face scrub can bring a lot of benefits to our skin. I think this would be good for any skin type because the formula is not too heavy / thick and is quite friendly to the skin.
