My Current Lip Care

I am currently having very dry lips, I think I'm dehydrated despite my effort to drink more water. My lips is so dry it begins to hurt, especially at the corners. It is chapped and dry, and it feels so uncomfortable. I also couldn't wear matte lipsticks because it would accentuate the dryness and also makes it dry even more. These days I can only use moisturizing lipsticks or lipgloss to conceal the chapped lips. So I guess it's time to amp up my lip care routine....
My first automatic reaction is to wear lip balm all the time to help my lips stay moisturized. I usually would go for my Burts Bees Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint which has a very moisturizing effect on the lips but somehow I lost it, so right now I settled with my EOS lip balm in Pomegranate. EOS Lip balm is also very moisturizing but I found that Burts Bees is more effective for severe dry lips condition (Bee Balm is also very effective but I have finished mine a while ago). So until I find my Burts Bees I'm gonna have to stick with the EOS Pomegranate lip balm instead.
I also added extra treatment which I apply at night before I go to bed, which is the Orlane Extreme Line-Reducing Lip Care. I usually apply this on top of my EOS lip balm every night for extra moisturizing properties to protect against the dry temperature of my bedroom caused by the air-conditioner.
I also put another extra efforts which is scrubbing my lips with a soft exfoliator every two days to get rid of the dry chapped lips. I'm still using the TonyMoly Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub (reviewed here) because I haven't bought any new lip scrub yet. Last but not least, I also use a collagen lip mask right after I scrubbed my lips. These lip masks are from Korea which I bought at Qoo10. These Collagen Lip Masks are supposed to give extra moisture to the lips as well as eliminate chapped and dry lips.
What's your favorite lip care products? Maybe I can try it too..

I really love the Nivea lip balms...especially the Milk & Honey one.

I also like the various chubby lip pencils/crayons worn over my Nivea if I need moisturization and more color. :)
I've never tried lip masks. It looks funny ^^
ReplyDeleteMy lips are also extremely dry and myfavorite lip balm is Rêve de Miel by Nuxe. But I don't know if we can find it in Jakarta.. It's very moisturizing!

ReplyDeleteI also love chubby pencils/crayons! I don't really get along with nivea though, they seem to leave a bit of film on top of my lips, but I guess we have different formulas here in Asia. Thank you for your suggestions though!

It's my first time trying lip masks too Lucie, it's not as wet/moisturizing as facial sheet masks are but the after result is pretty good ;)
I've heard lots of great things about the popular Nuxe Reve de Miel too but unfortunately we don't have any Nuxe counters here. You can get Nuxe brand from strawberrynet.com though, it's free worldwide shipping ;)
