GARDEN OF LOVE White Rose Hand Cream
9:58:00 PM
I have quite many hand cream collection in my stash and I usually have three hand creams opened at the same time. One is on my bedside table for a little extra moisture before sleep, the other one is sitting on my working table ( I work from home ) for easy access because I spent a lot of time in front of my computer, and another one is on my beauty/makeup case which I bring with me everywhere.
This Garden of Love White Rose Hand Cream is the one that I put on my bedside table. I usually put it on my hands, arms, and also my leg before I go to sleep to reduce dryness from the air-conditioner. I got this a while back at Watsons and still hasn't finished it yet (although there are only a small amount of it left inside now).
First of all, I really love the packaging. Just look at the pretty tube! It has a vintage feminine touch with the soft coloring, antique fonts, and old-school floral design. So chic and a little bit Parisienne if I may say so. This looks very lovely on the vanity and the packaging is also the biggest reason why I bought it. I probably would still keep the packaging as a decorative item once I finished this hand cream ^o^
Now regarding the product itself, here's what it says on the packaging:
" Garden of Love hand cream is concentrated with shea butter to help moisturize your hands and also rich with sunflower oil and vitamin E to protect you from free-radicals, thus helping to maintain smoothness and suppleness on your hands "
This white rose hand cream has a really nice scent. To my nose, it smells like a really soft rose. The scent is also subtle, not very strong but you can still smell it on your hands. The scent would lasts although not for a really long time, or at least until you wash your hands or do a lot of things with your hands.
The formula is a thick lotion with little yellow granules in it. The packaging says that the granules are "moisturizing beads" that include almond oil to help repair the skin's moisture barrier to relieve dryness, while the white lily extract helps brighten the skin.
Aside from the girly vintage-y packaging and the nice soft floral scent, I actually don't favor this hand cream. Despite all the goodness it said on the packaging but I found that this hand cream does not sinks in to my pores. It does give instant smoothness to my hands once applied, but actually the product just sits there on top of my skin for what it seems like forever.
For instance, when I applied this hand cream at night before bed, then in the morning when I woke up and wash my hands I can feel that the hand cream is still there on the surface of my skin. How do I know this? Because when I wash my hands it would feel really slippery, and that's because the hand cream didn't get absorbed into my skin even after 8 hours, so it just sat there on top of my skin during the whole night!
It is such a sad story, considering that I already favored the packaging and the scent. I hate products that just sits on the skin without getting absorbed, it makes it feel like they didn't do anything for our skin :(
There are lotions that took a very long time to finally be absorbed by the skin thoroughly, but this hand cream is not one of those. This one seems to never get absorbed by my skin at all. I once tested it and leave it all day - and yes, it is still there. My skin still feel slippery when I washed it the next day, over 12 hours later since I applied it the first time (sigh).
This tube comes with a 100ml of product inside it but too bad they didn't really do anything to my skin because they just sits on top of it without doing nothing. If anyone of you have also tried this product and also experienced the same thing please also let me know.
Meanwhile, here's the ingredient list for those of you who needs to know... You can click the photo below to enlarge it :
Overall, although the packaging is super pretty and the scent is also really nice I won't be repurchasing and also won't recommend this hand cream based on my experience above. Luckily, this hand cream was not expensive (under IDR 50,000 / below $5 - if I recall).
If Garden of Love have other type of products I would still try them though...
Have any of you tried any similar products?
Hugs and Kissies,

It’s a GIRL Thing
Hi Yuri! I bought this cream more than 6 months ago and it's not empty yet! I don't think it's moisturizing at all. The only plus is the packaging, that's why I bought it in the first place..
ReplyDelete@Julie: Thanks for stopping by Julie :)
ReplyDelete@Lucie: Me too! I bought it because of the packaging :)
Did it sinks into your pores or does it just sits on top of your skin like mine did?
I haven't noticed whether it stayed on top of my skin or not. But one thing is sure, it clearly has no moisturizing effect. It's like applying water, my hands remain dry!
ReplyDelete@Lucie: I agree, they are pretty useless ;)
