January EMPTIES
1:56:00 AM
First Empties post for 2014!
I
decided to continue this Empties series because it serves as a note for
myself on how many products I used within a year and also as a reminder
for myself on what products work for me and which ones didn't.
That's
one of the perks of having a blog, you can always go back to your old
posts to take some notes when you need to ;)
Naturian Goat's Milk + Organic Wheat Shower Cream
With
3x whitening & moisturizing power this purified goat's milk
shower cream is enriched with milk protein, organic wheat, and
vitamins A & D. Goat's milk is well-known for it's smoothing
properties. This does makes my skin feels so smooth afterwards and did
not leave any residue at all. The scent is nice but it's pretty standard
for a shower gel.
- Recommended? Yes
Note: I probably
won't repurchase this but I would love to try other variants from this
brand. To replace this I have my Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel and my new Dove Go
Fresh Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena Body Wash.
Loreal Fall Repair Anti-Hairfall Shampoo
This
is certainly not my first bottle because this has been my go-to shampoo
these days. You can read my previous notes on this shampoo because my
opinions still remains the same. >READ HERE<
- Recommended? Yes
Note: I would def repurchase this shampoo but right now I'm trying to use up my Tresemme Nourishing Keratin Shampoo first.
Flawless Ingrown Hair Serum
This
is a super old product which I found lurking on one of my container.
It's a product that you use after you shave your legs or under-arm area
(or wherever area on your body) to avoid irritation and also to prolong
the shaving results. Because this is a very old product so I think it's better to
throw this away since it has changed color and turns gooey. Better safe than sorry.
- Recommended? Yes, probably.
Note: I probably won't repurchase this for myself, and right now I don't have anything to replace this product with.
Makarizo Honey Dew Repair Mask
This hair mask contain royal
jelly with moisture-balance that makes hair soft and elastic. It also
said that it's good for reducing abnormal hair loss. I didn't used this
properly (with a hot towel wrapped on the hair - as the instruction
said). I just used this as a deep conditioner instead, leaving it on my
hair for a little while without covering it before washing it out. The result is a really
soft manageable hair with a sweet-smelling strands.
- Recommended? Yes, if you like hair mask.
Note:
I personally don't like hair mask because they're a hassle for me to
use, so I prefer a deep conditioner instead. For that I still have a sachet of
L'Oreal Total Repair Deep Repairing Mask and also the Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Treatment to use.
Skin Aqua UV Mild Milk Face & Body
This
is a great UV protection lotion with an SPF 25 PA++ that is suitable
for everyday wear. I love any sunscreen product from Skin Aqua and I
have tried four variants of them (none of them disappoint me). They work great for my combination skin and
didn't feel greasy and did not leave a white cast too. It also absorbs
quite fast and work well under makeup.
- Recommended? Yes
Note:
I used this for my daily face moisturizer, and now to replace this I'm
using a combination of my Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Gel with an added layer of
Clarins UV+ HP11 SPF 40.
Hada Labo Mild Peeling AHA+BHA Face Wash
This
was my first product from Hada Labo which was very popular back then
and I don't find something special from this range. If I'm not mistaken
this is for anti-aging care. It provides mild peeling for your face but I
find that this is nothing special for me, that's why it took me so long
to finish this little tiny tube.
- Recommended? No.
Note:
This is my face wash that I put on my vanity in my parent's in law's
house where I spent almost every weekend there. To replace this face wash I'm
currently using my Clarins Daily Energizing Cleansing Gel.
Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa Papaya Enzyme Body Scrub
One
of my favorite local brand, this body scrub really scrubs off dirt and
dead skin cells from my skin, leaving it soft and smooth. It's a
gel-like formula with tiny exfoliator beads in it, so it feels soft and
un-abrasive at all on the skin. Papaya is also known for it's skin
brightening properties.
- Recommended? Yes.
Note: I would
probably repurchase this at some point but right now I'm still trying
to use up my Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Scrub and also my favorite Ovale Balinese Milk Scrub.
Orlane Anagenese 25 First-Time Fighting Care Eye Contour
Phew,
that was a long name for a teeny tiny tube, LOL. A little bit goes a
long way with this one, so this tiny tube lasted me a couple of months.
I'm not sure whether or not it really worked for my eye area because I
don't have many wrinkles yet (thank GOD). But so far, I felt nothing
special with the application. No soothing feeling or tingly sensation or
anything. Truthfully, it felt just so-so.
- Recommended? Not really.
Note:
I probably won't buy the full size. I haven't found an eye care
product that I really really love, but right now I'm still using my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye and C+M Voom Green Tea Eye Gel.
I
have several sachets of this skin renewing peel and this is the last
sachet. My opinions remains
the same. The last time it was on my Empties post was back in April, you can READ IT HERE.
Note: Right now I don't have any chemical peeling product to replace this with.
Lioele Dr.Ampoule Pore Clean & Tightening (sachet)
I
think this is some kind of a primer to cover the pores or to reduce the
size of the pores, enabling makeup to go on smoothly on top of the
skin. But this felt a bit sticky which is pretty annoying. It comes in a
clear gel formula and it took a little time to be fully absorbed too. I
don't think this is suitable for my normal-combination skin.
- Recommended? No.
Note:
I won't be repurchasing this because I don't like sticky stuffs for my
combination skin. I would still prefer a primer such as my trusted
Revlon PhotoReady Color Correcting Primer.
Talika Lipocils Expert (REVIEWED HERE)
I should've thrown
this away since a couple of months ago because I think this is already
passed it's expiry time. I have reviewed this a few times here in my
blog and my opinion remains the same. This really grow my lashes and
made it thicker and longer. Genius stuff!
- Recommended? Yes.
Note: Because this
is very pricey so I might not repurchase this in the future, but if you
have the money then go on and buy this! Right now I'm trying out the OptiLash
Serum from ApoT.Care (will be up for Review soon!).
Nip+Fab No Needle Fix Serum (sachet)
This
has fast-acting cell active form to firm wrinkles and powerful osilift
that tenses and smoothes skin. This plumping + Volumizing serum felt a
bit tingly at first, which means that it's working. But I only get to
use this one time as it is a small sachet. Application feels smooth on
the skin and it's not sticky at all. And that's all I can say for this product ;p
Note:
I can't say that this does work or not because I only tried it once, so I'm
not sure whether or not I would buy the full size. Right now I'm still
trying to use up my Lady Soma Renewal Serum.
Vivelle Collagen Face Mask (REVIEWED HERE)
This
collagen face mask is my mom's favorite one. This mask is also infused
with virgin coconut oil and olive oil for vitalizing and replenishing
the skin, as well as bengkuang (Jícama) that is
well-known for it's brightening properties. Vivelle is one of my
favorite supermarket brand for face masks, it felt soothing and not
too-dripping-wet which is very convenient for me.
- Recommended? Yes.
Note:
This is probably my third buy of this sheet mask. I will def buy this
again because it's affordable. Right now I'm trying to use up the rest
of my sheet mask stash first.
That's
all for the first Empties of the year. I successfully finished 4 full
size products ( and get rid of 1 full size product), 5 travel / deluxe
sample size products, and 3 sachet samples = Total of 13 products. Not
bad to open the year ;)
