Still on-going with my #SingaporeHoliday theme, here is another short post which is a haul post featuring my shopping hauls (and a freebie!) from my recent trip to Singapore. You can read about what I packed for the trip HERE, and my outfit diary / photo journals for my three days trip by clicking HERE.
Meanwhile, let's just get down to the hauls ...
I had a plan before we left for holiday that I wasn't gonna shop for fashion items because I think a lot of fashion brands are already available here in Jakarta so there's nothing that I wanted to buy from the fashion section. But on the other hand, the beauty part is my main goals. I plan to buy some things from Lush (which sadly failed as I didn't have the chance and time to go to Lush counter), Bath & Body Works, Sephora, as well as from the duty free shop at Changi. There are still lots of brands that are not available in Jakarta until now so the closest place to get them is Singapore.
But I didn't shop a lot because the dollar currency is not helping. Singapore dollar is almost equal to US dollars nowadays, phew... So I'm just gonna look for things that I really need or been wanting to try instead of splurging for random things that catches my fancy (alias laper mata ;p).
I went to Mustafa and bought some drug store products that are not available widely here in Jakarta such as Freeman and St Ives apricot scrub which is one of my favorite face scrub ever! I also went to Bath & Body Works but failed to get the mini hand bac gels to add to my collection because it was $4 each! WTF?? I can get one of those for IDR 25000 here via online shopping so I skipped those out. I also failed to get the candles which was one of my main goal because they were more expensive than what the online store offers here (le sigh).
Last but not least, I went to Sephora and although I really want to buy a lot of the products offered there, but I can finally resist the urge and just bought one thing from them. Due to the high currency I also figured that the MAC prices at the duty free shop were almost similar to Jakarta prices (alias nggak beda jauh), so I just bought one product despite my original goals to buy an eyeshadow, a blush, and a face powder :(
From the Sephora I bought the Soap & Glory Soaper Heroes Set. This is probably my most favorite item from the haul that excites me the most because I've been wanting to try Soap & Glory for ages! They are not available in Jakarta yet (although Sephora Jakarta has been hinting a lot that Soap & Glory will be available in their counter soon!), so when I saw the rack filled with pinky goodness in the middle of Sephora Vivo City I was glued to that rack. After back and forth thinking about which products I want to buy, I finally decided to just buy one of the sets so I can try many variants of Soap & Glory products (^_^)
Inside the set are: Clean On Me Shower Gel // Flake Away Body Scrub //Righteous Butter Body Butter // Girligo Body Moisturizing Mist // Hand Food Hand Cream
I told you earlier that there was one freebie that I got while I'm in Singapore, and that is this cute little Aroma Dew Tea Tree & Rosemary Soap which is a souvenir from one of my friend's trip to Japan (thank you Martha!).
From the Bath & Body Works store I only bought a couple of BBW hand soap because my husband love these soaps, and they were $14 for two so I chose the BBW Aqua Blossom Deep Cleansing Hand Soap and the Kitchen Lemon Gentle Foaming Hand Soap. I love fancy hand soap especially foaming hand soap because it would actually save you money since you only need one squirt and it would foam up and clean your hands thoroughly. So a little goes a long way. You can see from my previous BBW hauls I also bought four foaming hand soap, and if you follow my hauls post you might notice that fancy hand soaps are one of the items that I like to buy ^o^
I also bought two travel size body sprays because I'm running low on my favorite BBW Frosted Snowberry Fragrance Mist that I always bring for my travel/stay-over, so I bought the BBW Twilight Woods and the Coconut Lime Breeze Fragrance Mist that were both on sale.
From Ikea I bought these sweet smelling things that I of course couldn't resist. If you follow my blog you might know that I love scented products. My current collection is perfume and candles, so when I saw these two candles for a very cheap price (around $2-3) I couldn't say no to them. I would've bought 3 more candles if my luggage permits, but sadly I was afraid that my luggage wouldn't fit for all the things that I packed and bought, so I just grabbed two of these candles along with two pretty potpourri (less than $2 each!).
My picks are the IKEA Dofta potpourri in Blue and Green. And Tidsenlig Scented Candle in white, as well as Sinnlig Strawberry Candle.
When in Singapore, Mustafa market is a favorite place to shop because they have it all, especially if you're looking for food, chocolates, beauty products, perfumes, even electronic devices. I got some drugstore beauty products which I've been wanting to try such as one of the popular Freeman's masks.
From the options available I finally set my mind with the Freeman Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals Mask. I also got Freeman Bare Foot Peppermint + Plum Foot Scrub because I'm running low on my Taman Sari Royal Heritage Foot Scrub and needed a replacement for that. One more thing that I got is my favorite St Ives Apricot Scrub which I loved so much. There are a couple variants of St Ives Apricot Scrub on the rack and I have only tried the original one, so this time I decided to try the "Timeless Skin" one.
As I told you before, I was planning to get an eyeshadow, a blush, and a face powder from the MAC counter at Changi duty free, but since the currency is not on my side so I decided to just bought one thing which is my trusted Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I was tempted to try the Pressed Powder or the Mineralize Skin Finish but I decided to just stick with the trusted Studio Fix instead ;)
Last but not least, I also bought some teas because I love drinking teas especially infused teas, and the reason why I included my tea hauls here is because drinking tea is good for your health and being healthy means looking healthy, therefore I always assume that drinking tea is part of a beauty treatment.
The price for Dilmah tea or Twinings here in Indonesia are triple the price of our regular tea. So of course I stocked up on teas while in Singapore where the Dilmah tea box were only less than $2. I got two boxes of Dilmah Variety Flavored Teas for me and my mom. I also stopped by the Marks & Spencer stall in Vivo City because they were having a sale for their food and beverages. I bought this M&S Cranberry & Elderflower Infusion Tea for less than $2 (for 20 teabags).
Although it's not much but I'm satisfied with my hauls. Mostly because I finally lay my hands on Soap & Glory products, I get to add some products to my BBW collection, and because the products I bought are the ones that I will be needing in the near future.
Apart from above hauls I also bought some snacks and chocolates, etc - but you can see it on my other blog TIGERLILYS BOOK as soon as I posted there ;)
See you on my next post!
Hugs and Kissies,
