I have quite an accumulation of lip colors from lipstick, lip glosses, colored lip balms, etc - although my collection probably not as much as the ones on other blogs but I think sometimes I still got a little bit overwhelmed. So what I do now is trying not to buy any new ones anymore (unless it's very very interesting or there's a discount I could not say no to), and I also try to rotate my lipstick, glosses, etc as frequently as I can, that way I'm hoping all my lippies collection are being used at least a couple of times so I'm not just hoarding them on my vanity.

For the past month I've been using this combination of a lipstick and a lipgloss almost everyday I go out. These used to be just sitting pretty on my vanity because the lipstick has a darker shade than what I normally would wear, and the lip gloss (despite it's name) has a brown-ish shade that doesn't go well with most of my other lipsticks. But I noticed that darker lip color is on the rage for the last few months so that's why I'm bringing myself to wear these darker colors lately to try to go along with the trend.

I know it's not black or plum or dark purple color like what other beauty gurus wear (because I don't really know where to wear those colors without people looking at you here), but these dark brown shades are darker enough for me because I usually wear pink and true red lipsticks.

I used to wear brown lipsticks in high school because I'm not brave enough to rock a red one and pink is too girly for me back then, so I wear brown-ish lipstick instead. So I bought this shade from MAC counter out of nostalgic feeling, and because I don't own a brown-ish lipstick then.

Anyway, you can see the shade and how brown it is on the swatch picture below. As for the lipgloss, although the name says "pink clash" but there's no pink in it at all. It's more like a sparkly muted light brown instead. It shimmers beautifully just like Mac Lipglasses do, and layered on top of the Spice Is Nice lipstick it creates a nice shimmery glow and actually makes the dull lipstick become more attractive ;)

I love the combination shade because it creates a gorgeous layer of shimmery brown. I like shimmery lipstick because I have small lips and shimmery/lipgloss makes my lips look fuller. This combination has become my go-to lip colors for the past two months :)

Note: I don't really like Cremesheen range from Mac lipsticks, maybe that's why I only have one cremesheen in my collection which is this Spice Is Nice lipstick. I usually rotate my lip colors monthly or bi-monthly, so let's see what are my favorite lippies for next month !
