SEPTEMBER Empties
2:55:00 AMIt's time for another Empties post!
I haven't been doing Empties post routinely for the past few months but the last time I checked I had quite a lot of empty products on my bin and I got excited to be able to finish lots of products, so I thought I'm gonna do these Empties series more routinely again.
Last month I binned quite a handful of products and I was happy to be able to finished several makeup items because makeup items usually took the longest time to be finished especially since I don't use heavy makeup every single day.
I also emptied some face products and a couple of travel size items because I was traveling a couple of times during the last two months. Every time I finished a product I always feel happy and excited because that means I'm reducing my overflowing stash, and that also means there's a new spot for new products, LOL ;)
Because I have a handful of products to tell you about so I will try to divide them in some kind of categories here to make it easier to read. As usual, I will include a short details on whether I like it or not and whether I would repurchase it again.
Anyway, there's an empty candle in my bin and I don't know which category should I put it on, so I'll just include it in the Body Care products instead. It's my very first time finishing a scented candle. Although I started
collecting and burning candles since about two years ago but I never
finished a candle because I like to change up my candles regularly,
and I also refused to finish one candle because candles are still expensive
here in my country so I like to keep my money, LOL. Hopefully Ikea would open soon and would carry their
cheap scented candles with them ;p
FRAGRANCE / BODY PRODUCTS
Yankee Candle "Sun & Sand"
This was one of the first candle I ever bought. It's just a small candle with an easy breezy scent to it, which I love because it doesn't smell floral or candy sweet or spicy or anything, it just smells like a fresh sea breeze to me. The scent is subtle though, so you might want to burn it for hours in a closed small room until you can actually smell it. Another option is to buy the bigger one or the 3 wicks candle version ;)
NOTE: I love the scent but might not buy the small size again but instead will get the big jar.
Watsons Nylon Body Glove
It's an exfoliating glove that I used to scrub my body in the shower. I have a love and hate relationship with this glove. I love that it's relatively cheap and is abrasive enough so it will slough away dead skin, but I'm also on the fence about the abrasiveness of this glove. It's kinda harsh on the skin especially if you have sensitive skin.
NOTE: I might not repurchase it again and will look for a more softer body glove instead. Right now I don't have any replacement yet.
Cath Kidston Wild Rose Body Wash & Body Lotion Mini Set
This were the travel set that I used while I'm traveling and due to the many sleep overs and travels that I did during the last two months I finally finished these two. Aside from the pretty cute packaging of Cath Kidston body products there's really nothing special with the product itself. The shower gel is just so-so and the body lotion is quite sticky and didn't absorbed really well.
NOTE: Will not repurchased it. Right now I'm replacing these with my Etude House Dress Room Travel Set.
Eskulin "Belle" Splash Cologne
Eskulin "Belle" Splash Cologne
This is a local drugstore brand and I think this was geared towards young teens, but because it has a cute "princess" themed bottle I couldn't hold myself not to buy it even though I know it's for tweens ;p Well, you're never too old for Disney princesses, right? Anyway I used this for traveling because the bottle is so small and tiny.
NOTE: It smells good so who knows I might buy it again in the future ;) Meanwhile I'm trying to use up my Bath & Body Works Frosted Snowberry as my travel body spray.
MAKE UP PRODUCTS
Sariayu Putih Langsat Two Way Cake
I can't believe I finally hit pan on this pressed powder because I had this for so long. I think there's a lot of product in this pressed powder because no matter how often I used it up, it seems that it just won't die, LOL. So it's great for those who want affordable pressed powder with good coverage and long lasting usage. Results are good with light to medium coverage.
NOTE: Recommended. I didn't buy new pressed powder because right now I'm using up my trusted Revlon Photoready Two Way Foundation which I also just recently hit pan.
Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara
I used mascara very often because I like to accentuate my eyes, and of all the mascaras that I've ever tried this is one of the best mascara I used so far. I like the unique wand and the amazing result it gives me. [REVIEWED HERE].
NOTE: I'd like to repurchase if it's not so expensive.
Maybelline Hyper Curl VolumExpress Mascara
I've tried many variants of Maybelline mascaras and although this is not my top Maybelline mascara but I would still recommend it because it's a no-fuss mascara that you can use everyday with good results. It gives me enough length, curls, and definition to help me get through the day.
NOTE: Not opening any new mascara because I still have two other mascaras that are currently in use.
CK (Calvin Klein) Glistening Lip Gloss in Taffy
It looks pastel pink on the bottle but when swiped on the lips it's more of a sheer pink with shimmers. I used this as a layer to any pink lipstick to make my lips more pouty and shiny. However, I hate the packaging because it seems to always spill some of the gloss out especially near the opening of the cap, so it's always sticky and messy.
NOTE: I won't repurchase it, and I need to buy a new pink lip gloss to replace this.
Artistry Lip Color Creme in Petal
I had this lipstick for so long and I think it's already way passed it's healthy life. The shade is more like a coral pink but it goes on really sheer on my lips so I usually need many layers until it shows on my lips. Don't really like the texture and the color would disappear from my lips pretty quickly.
NOTE: Not recommended, I think Maybelline lipstick is better than this one.
Givenchy Photo'Perfexion Light Fluid Foundation (sample)
I got this from a Givenchy event a long time ago and I just used it recently for my travels. It has SPF in it but the coverage is light and it also doesn't last really long on my combination skin. Doesn't give any "wow" effect to my face either.
NOTE: I'm not interested to purchase it and right now to replace this I'm using up my Dior White Reveal BB Cream (also sample tube) for my travels.
FACE PRODUCTS
St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub
One of my most beloved scrub, I even split open the little tube so I can scrape every last bit of the product inside the tube ;p I really like the texture of this face scrub as well as the feel on my skin which felt like it really exfoliates all those pesky dead skin cells off my face.
NOTE: Recommended especially if you love gritty scrubs. I already repurchased it :)
Shikada Facial Cleansing Wipes
It's not the first time you see these wipes on my Empties post because I use it quite often since it's so cheap. I don't purely use it to clean my face because it dries my skin, so I only use it as a second layer of cleansing or to wipe my face from oil and dirt on a super hot day.
NOTE: Repurchased ! I still have a stock of these wipes on my stash right now ;)
V10 Plus Collagen Serum
I've tried several serums before but this one stands out the most. When I used it routinely every day I can really see the difference on my skin and I like it very much. [REVIEWED HERE]
NOTE: Recommended ! And if it's not expensive I would buy it. Meanwhile I'm using a sample of Astalift Essence Destiny as my everyday serum to replace this.
C+M Voom Green Tea Eye Gel
I had this for the longest time because it took so long to be emptied. I only use a teeny tiny amount of this eye gel because I don't like putting thick product underneath my eyes, so it took me about two years (?) to finally finish it off. It's an anti-aging, firming, and moisturizing eye gel but I actually don't really see any amazing result except for the moisturizing properties.
NOTE: Will not repurchase, and for replacement I'm now using Skin Food Gold Caviar Lifting Eye Serum.
Givenchy Clean To Sublime Serum Makeup Remover (sample)
Another sample tube I used up thanks to the traveling last month. It's a makeup remover with pink substance which looks unique but actually not my favorite. It stings when I used it to remove my eye makeup and I don't think it's strong enough to remove thick layer of foundation as well.
NOTE: Don't like it. To replace this I'm still using my Make Up Forever Sens'Eyes Eye-Makeup Remover (in travel size).
Wardah Lightening Day Cream
Moisturizer is one of the beauty products that I emptied quite fast because I use it every day and night. I never skipped on a moisturizer. This one from wardah is actually quite good. It absorbs really well and didn't break out my skin. It also suits my combination skin and has SPF in it.
NOTE: Recommended, meanwhile to replace this right now I'm trying on the Hadalabo Ultimate Whitening lotion and milk.
SAMPLE SACHETS
I have a stack full of sachet samples but I'm just too lazy to use them up one by one, but I managed to use two sachets last month ;) The Egyptian Magic Cream sachet is a repeat in this Empties post because I had several sachets of these and this is my last one. I love using it on my body and scars because it's too oily for my face. I think it does reduce the appearance of scars if you use it routinely everyday. Meanwhile the Oscar Blandi Olio di Jasmine Hair Serum smells really good just like putting jasmine on your hair. It also makes my hair really soft and manageable, and the most important thing is it doesn't weigh my hair down.
That's it for my September Empties.. I finished a total of 17 products + 2 sachets. Ten of them are full size products so I'm really happy with that. I'm also happy to be able to finished 5 makeup products to reduce my makeup stash, yay!
Currently I'm looking at my empties bin and there are already many products inside it so hopefully at the end of this month I can also get many empty bottles and tubes so I can make room for all the new products that I got from sponsors, gifts, or personal hauls.
See you on my next Empties post!
