Is it just me or Jakarta has turned into a hell of a scorching hot land these past few weeks! Literally I could be melting in my room these past few days. My AC seems like a weak fan compared to the dry sunny weather outside, the compressor seems to always overheat. I don't even know how many degrees is it outside, it's just so effing hot and sweaty, yuck!

Anyway, I guess that's what you get when you live in a tropical country. I won't complain much, but one thing for sure it's always a little bit harder for me to find fragrances that won't melt in the sun, lol. 

In these super hot days I would usually change up my fragrances to the ones that has lighter scent, preferably fruity floral or "invigorating" scent to keep my body feels fresh. So I already changed up my soap, body spray, perfume, and candle to these ones I picked up from my stash below:

As soon as it gets too hot outside I turned to this fragrance mist for an uplifiting and energizing body spray. I use this right after I showered and toweled off. This fragrance mist has a fresh beachy scent with a touch of slightly citrusy note. It's very refreshing for sunny days!

Bath & Body Works Aqua Blossom Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

I've been using my Bath & Body Works Sparkling Snow hand soap which has a "winter" scent, but it's already down to it's last bit now. So to replace that I already plan to use this Aqua Blossom variant. I love the fresh and "clean" scent of this one. Perfect for everyday washing :)

Cottage Bergamot & Acacia Honey Moisturizing Nature Shower Gel

Aaahhh...my current favorite shower gel. I always switched my shower gel with this one when it's been a super hot day. The scent of this shower gel is very refreshing yet sweet to my nose. It always invigorates me every time I shower with this one. The scent is uplifting without being minty, it's more like a sweet floral fruity scent. (Reviewed Here)

Ikea Sinnlig Strawberry Candle 
This is my go-to perfume on these super scorching hot sunny days! It's light, it's un-fussy, it smells "fun" and fresh. Perfect for these hot weather where you don't want a heavy perfume that could make you dizzy, especially when mixed with sweat (oh no). This is super light, smells fresh and sweet, pretty much a fruity floral scent that would be perfect under the sun. (Reviewed Here)

That's how the box was delivered to my address. Reebonz always ship their goods in this black box wrapped with ribbon. The black box is their trademark. It's a very sturdy box too and it can be used for storage later on ;)

Inside the box I found a clear plastic bag containing my purchase still wrap in it's original dust bag. Please note that not every bag / wallet would come with a dustbag / box. I think it depends on the item itself. For example, my Longchamp bag didn't come with a dustbag but this MK one does.

Inside the dustbag I found my purchase sitting prettily, still with the paper wrap in tact on the handles and logo. I thought I'm gonna review the bag too because sometimes I get questions regarding this bag when I wore it. Many girls wants to know about the details of the bag before buying it, or whether it's worth it and would work for their lifestyle or not, so I thought I'm gonna review the bag too while I'm on it.

The bag I purchased was the MICHAEL Michael Kors Jet Set East West Tote in Luggage. It was my first Michael Kors and I'm glad I picked this one because I like the style of the bag with the extra pockets on the outer side. And it's made of Saffiano leather which I also been curious about. The saffiano leather is a very durable and scratch-resistant material, it is used in many designer bags such as Prada, MK, etc.

I chose the luggage color (which is a tan shade) because it's one of the "neutral" color that according to many fashion books every girl should have in their closet. Even Michael Kors himself once said that every girl should have a "luggage" colored handbag in her wardrobe. It's a gorgeous shade in real life and it goes with many of my wardrobe too.

At first I don't really like the "stiffness" of the bag. Well maybe because I'm used to slouchy bags, so having a structured bag is kind of a new thing to me. I didn't really wore this bag that much during the first few months because it feels "very office-wear" to me. Obviously it is made of saffiano leather which is a "hard/stiff" leather material so of course the bag would not be slouchy. It took me quite a while to adjust myself and now I already got used to it and been loving + wearing it a lot for these past months.

I love the lining on the inside of the bag, it looks elegant with all the subtle MK logo inside the bag. You can find a D-ring to attach your keys or your coin purse or your hand sanitizer, maybe? There are 1 zipper compartment inside, 2 medium slip pockets, and 2 smaller pockets inside the bag. And don't forget the extra outer side pockets! This bag has many pockets and compartments with very large opening, it's suitable for your college papers, work documents, laptop, or maybe as a diaper bag (;p).

The bag has 4 small "studs / legs" at the bottom but I never put it down on the floor anyway, I took really good care of my luxury bags because who knows I might sell them again later ;)

I love the gold hardware and the overall look of the bag. For my petite frame I'd say this is a medium bag. It won't swallow your petite figure but it's not a small bag either. I think it would be perfect for work or for daily wear if you want to go for a sophisticated look. Sometimes I wore this with jeans and sometimes I wore this with dresses and skirts too, it's a very versatile bag.

It doesn't have a long strap but it's not a heavy bag either. At least for me it's not heavy. I love the big room inside so I can put lots of useless craps stuffs in it.

Note: If you buy something from Reebonz you will find this black tag below on the item you purchased. Make sure you check the condition of your purchased item first before you tear this tag off, because you can only return your purchases if it still has this black tag on.

Overall, I really like the MK Jet Set Tote and would recommend this style to any of you who has doubts about buying it. It has been a year since I purchased this bag and it still looks new! Talk about the high quality saffiano, yeah?

Anyway, I know it's an old model but it is a classic one and you can still find it in Reebonz. I also love shopping at Reebonz and will continue hunting for cheaper designer items there. In fact I just recently bought another something for my birthday, pssttt ... ;p

Just before Ied day we received a suprise from the Nivea head office! My husband's office is located in the same building as Nivea head office, and just before Ied day they are surprisingly giving away Nivea product hampers to the neighboring office including hubby's office. So how lucky we are to receive these freebies from Nivea. So thank you so much Nivea Indonesia!

I received these Japanese Beauty Face Masks including Melano Science samples from a good friend of mine who went to Japan just recently. Aside from these goodies I also received some cool MTex washi tapes (!) which I'm about to post on my other blog Tigerlily's Book A.S.A.P :)

Purchases

From that same friend I also got this Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner - which is the only liquid eyeliner that I would recommend to everyone else, (lol). Before she departs for Japan she asked me about what products that she should buy from Japan (or products that relatively cheaper in Japan). I advised to get Dolly Wink liquid liner because that is my sole HG when it comes to eyeliner and I encourage her to try it. She took my advice and bought a couple of them (and fell in love!), and she also let me buy one from her too - with cheaper price, of course :)

Then a while back we visited the Pandora Box garage sale which is one of the most popular garage sale held at Kemang area. This annual yearly garage sale is popular for their designer brand items so if you're in search for preloved designer brands you would want to check out this garage sale next year (^o^). Anyway, from this garage sale I got one of the item that has been on my wish list forever which is the Guerlain Meteorites! It's preloved but it's still almost 3/4 full and the packaging still looks good too. The price was unbelievably cheap. I got it for IDR 100,000 only :)

From the same garage sale I also got this Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in shade Ole Flamingo! Lately I try to buy a new lippie every other month because lipstick is one of my favorite makeup to play with (^o^). Anyway, this one is new/sealed product and not a preloved item, but I got this for IDR 180,000 only! -> a little bit cheaper than retail price :)

Then, as you might already read in my previous post, I did a little shopping haul at Sociolla.com. As I told you above, I strive to try out a new lipstick every other month, so last month I purchased another lippie! I originally only bought the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in shade Ibiza which is a soft nude shade that looks neutral and yet gorgeous on the lips. But surprisingly Sociolla also thrown in a surprise bonus which is a travel size Cottage Invigorating Shower Gel in Ocean Blossom. I love Cottage shower gels so I'm really happy with the bonus gift!

I got no freebie in the fashion department this time except for the gorgeous charm bracelet from Soufeel Jewelry that I received as sponsored product. So everything listed down below are all purchased items. 

Starting with this Silver Jewelry from Matahari department store. We were buying some stuffs for my brother's wedding at Matahari dept store and they were having promotion (which I think is still going on today), and they handed several shopping vouchers for our purchase. The only condition is we have to spend the voucher on that very same day. So after receiving the discount voucher I went to their jewelry department and found these pretty silver double ring, and a pair of zirconia earrings. So I spent the voucher for these two items and I only have to pay IDR 80,000 for these two :)

I always wanted to try a long jumpsuit but always afraid that it won't suit my petite figure. Then one day I spot a cute floral one at an outlet store and decided to try it on just for good measure. Well apparently all my perceptions are wrong! Long jumpsuits are not for tall ladies only, apparently petites can wear them too :) So I bought this cute little jumpsuit and at home I just realized that this is actually from the kids section, the brand is Emerson Junior. So here's my advise for petites : try the ones from the kids department, it might fit our body and short legs better :) Here I'm wearing Emerson Junior jumpsuit in size 10, and I also tried a size 12 which also looks okay on my petite frame. 

Next are my phone case purchases. I recently upgraded my phone so automatically I needed some new cases to protect my phone (because I'm clumsy like that and I always drop my phone no matter what). So after figuring out which ones to get I finally decided to get this polkadot one from Kate Spade. It is the one with the smaller dots because I don't like the one with the bigger dots. It's a soft case with thick and strong rubber material - which I think would act as a great bumper for my phone.

A week later I also got two other cases from Michael Kors because they were on big discount. The MK ones are hard case and it's thinner than the Kate Spade one. I figured I needed both the sturdy one as well as the sleek ones, so I can wear the Kate Spade case for outdoor activities and the Michael Kors case for casual and/or fancier events (;p)

Note: After buying many cheap phone cases from ebay and the likes, I decided to just splurge on designer ones because from my experience the cheap ones were fragile and easily damaged or broken, especially for someone like me who always dropped or bumped the phone accidentally. So I thought instead of keep buying cheap plastic cases every few months (because it always got broken or dirty or damaged easily), I might as well look for the ones that are made of stronger material (which usually comes with a higher price tag). So that's how I decided to invest on these designer cases. Not because I'm a snob, but more because of a "necessity" to protect my phone - considering how clumsy I am with my phone.

So what did you received or buy recently?

I may used simple shampoos but when it comes to soaps I love using the fancy ones, lol. I always love scented products and that include sweet smelling soaps too. I love browsing for fancy ones but it doesn't have to be expensive. I also like changing my soaps regularly, sometimes I use different soaps for day and night shower (^o^).

Aside from soaps I also love using different kinds of products in my shower (don't we all?). I like having different products because I simply love testing and trying out new-to-me products. So, let's see what I have in my bathroom right now, shall we?

This is actually another late post from a few months ago but I thought I would post it anyway..

Okay, so if you're my Indonesian reader then you probably have heard about the new online store called Sociolla. Being an online-shopping-addict it was just a matter of time for me to try out their service, so after a few weeks of their launch I decided to try them out.

The main reason for me to shop at Sociolla was when I saw that they are having promotion at that time. If you're one of my old followers, you would probably noticed that my blog has a new look. Yes I've just recently changed the whole layout of Two Thousand Things because I want to start fresh after the hiatus.

I've been wanting a clean look with simple layout and minimal decorations, and I had planned to change this blog's layout since several months ago but I was just too lazy and couldn't find the time to sit back for long hours fixing out the layout. 

Although this is a ready-made template but still there are several things that I need to do with the html editor. You see, html is a challenge for me because I don't understand their language so it wasn't easy for me trying to figure out the new layout on the html level. But one fine day (actually it was last Saturday) I finally pushed myself to sit in front of my laptop and determined to get everything done! 

It was a productive morning, I started by cleaning my apartment and taking care of my laundry, then I took an energizing shower and took a little extra treatment by scrubbing my feet with Freeman BareFoot Peppermint + Plum Foot Scrub which is one of my favorite product right now.

This foot scrub is one of the best seller product from Freeman beauty range. It contains plum extract, peppermint, and tea tree oil to invigorate and renew tired feet. It's like having the power of pumice buffs away the rough spot on your feet to reveal soft and smoother skin. 

The texture is like a soft lotion with tiny little granules which acts as the pumice to slough away that roughness on your skin. I really really enjoy the soft scrubby texture and the invigorating scent of peppermint and plum! It smells really really nice, and the scent would last longer than my ordinary soap :)

It smells fresh and it makes my feet feels smoother and softer. Just don't forget to use a foot lotion afterwards. My current choice is Udderly Smooth Shea Butter Foot Cream which doesn't leave any grease and makes my feet feels soft for hours and hours. Other foot cream/lotion that I currently use is Nip+Fab Dry Leg Fix which has a soft and fast-absorbing formula.

So anyway, after a relaxing shower and a good foot scrub I finally took the time to make the big change on my blog. It took more than 5 hours to get everything right, and even after those long hours there are still a couple of things that are still missing the right link or are not in the right place. But I'm working on that so please just ignore those ;p

Oh my, it's been too long since I updated this blog (>_<)

The truth is....Life just gets in the way.. I got many things that needed my attention and my priority were towards something else. I may also got stuck with a writer's block and found no spirit to type anything.. But here I am now, with a new energy, and hopefully I can write regularly again.

I'm also trying to figure out how to turn this blog into something new and fresh. Or I might be thinking of starting another blog to starts fresh again. I don't know, I'm still not sure... 

But anyway, I thought I'm just gonna post about simple things today, such as my previous ootd for Ied day. Yes, I know it's been a long time since Ied day has passed... But I had some good pictures and I want to save them here on my blog for personal diary (^_^)

I celebrated Ied at two places, in Jakarta and Bandung. We went to Bandung on the day before Ied and we stayed with my husband's family at the Savoy Homann Hotel, a historic hotel that has been built since the 1800s ! You can read about my review of the hotel HERE (the post is in Bahasa Indonesia).

It was a privileged for me to be able to stay at such a historical hotel! I love history so obviously anything historical attracts me to the very core. I was also very lucky to have stayed at the room with the curved wall. I always think that the curved wall is very unique everytime I passed the hotel from the street. And I just couldn't believed my luck when they placed us in the curved room! (click the link above to read and see more pics of the hotel).

For the Jakarta - Bandung trip I already prepared my new floral jumpsuit which I'm planning to upload here soon because it's so darn cute! But then we were told that we would go straight to one of our aunt's place for dinner, straight from Jakarta. So I canceled wearing the jumpsuit and wore this maxi pleated dress that I paired with the lace blouse I bought from Metro - a combination which I thought would be more suitable for the family dinner compared to wearing a jumpsuit ;p

The next day we did the Ied prayer at the front area of the hotel parking spot. I wore a simple tunic dress for Ied prayer. I love this embroidered dress which I called my Moroccan dress (^o^). My mom bought one too, but in a different color. We decided to be twins for Ied day. Mom bought the soft grey one while I chose this teal one below. I was gonna buy the white one but mom said the material was too thin so it could reflect my silhouette in broad daylight. So I went with my second choice which is this beautiful teal one.

My sis in law bought the same dress later on, so we all could be twins/triplets on Ied day (^_^) She chose the black one which I think is also beautiful because the embroidery looks very vibrant against the dark color of the dress. 

Then for the celebration I changed my outfit to my new sheer kaftan tunic which I bought online :) I bought it from one of the Instagram store and I think the price is not that expensive compared to other kaftans, and it also came with a matching pashmina!

I'm happy that the pashmina has a darker shade of brown so it adds color to the soft pastel brown of the kaftan. I also like that it has a hidden hook on the front collar so I can close it up for a decent look, or open the hook for a slightly more casual look.

Some of my cousins commented that they are afraid to buy kaftan because usually kaftans are very long. Well my secret is to ask the seller first about the length of the kaftan, that way you can get a glimpse on how it would look on you. For my petite frame this kaftan is a bit long but I can manage it by wearing some heels ;)

I also got one more kaftan dress for second day of Ied celebration from another Instagram store. Well actually this one below might be more like a dress than a kaftan, but I always like the "faux-cape" style that were all around the runway and the fashion world a while ago, so when I found this dress I was very intrigued to buy it. It wasn't that expensive too..

I love how the sleeves cut open like a faux-cape and I love the color too. I feel like a queen when I'm wearing it, Lol... But now I'm a bit concerned because this dress looks very regal and I don't know where I'm gonna wear it except for the very rare "grand" occasion such as exclusive wedding party invitation held in exclusive hotels. But we only accept those kind of invitations like maybe perhaps 1-2 times a year ? Oh well... Maybe when I feel like sitting on the throne I'll wear it for fun (^o^)
