If you've been reading my blog and is familiar with my #skincareroutine post or if you're following me on my IG you will likely see my 7 - 10 steps Korean skincare routine. Yes, that's how many steps you'll need for a thorough Korean skincare routine. There are many steps in Korean routine because they usually include many different products in their routine including an essence, serum, ampoule ... Those are the products that you must include. 

I have incorporated serums and essences in my own routine but this is the first time I'm including an ampoule. Yep, this is My first ever Korean ampoule.

Dr. BrandNew Hyaluronic Meso Activator Ampoule is from one of the Korean beauty brand and clinic : Dr. Brand New by SevenLab. I got this ampoule from 08 Liter Indonesia and this is my first time trying it.

An ampoule in Korean skincare routine means a super-concentrated formula highly packed with active ingredients. Basically it's a super-charged booster for your skin. Because of the super-concentrated formula an ampoule is not supposed to be used daily or very often. It is supposed to be used  sparingly, every other day, or whenever your skin needs something extra.

I was having a stressed-looking skin lately due to an emotional roller-coaster I've been having since my dad passed away, so I was entitled to use the ampoule everyday but I only plan to use it everyday for 2 weeks or so. I don't plan to keep on using it daily until the bottle is finished because we're not supposed to. So now I use this ampoule everyday morning and night, AFTER my face wash + toner, and BEFORE I put on anything else.

Review:

I've been using this ampoule since it arrived last week from 08 Liter Indonesia, and my skin has been better ever since. It was dull, lackluster, irritated with blemishes and breakouts, but ever since I added this ampoule into my usual skincare routine my skin has been calmed down and seems to be back to its normal condition. I noticed the difference from my second day using this ampoule. My breakout seems to calmed down, my blemishes started to fade, and my combination skin seems to be balanced. I seriously love this ampoule. And Hyaluronic is always my favorite ingredient too in terms of skincare treatment :)

Just like the name said, this product contains Hyaluronic acid which is great for retaining moisture in our skin as well as a great source for anti-aging skincare. As you might already know, our body produces Hyaluronic on it's own, but our ability to produce it will decline with age which means our skin will get dry as we age which will result in fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging. So you see why we need Hyaluronic desperately as we age :)

Aside from Hyaluronic acid, this ampoule also contains Sodium DNA extracted from salmon, EGF, and Collagen extract. All of those ingredients helps restore skin elasticity, brightness, moisture, and also helps with pores and wrinkles improvement.

The texture is a clear gel-like with a slightly runny consistency. It's not sticky, doesn't have any scent, and absorbs quickly without leaving any residue. It also helps the absorption of the next products I apply after the ampoule. So adding this ampoule does not mean that you will add more time to your already-long skincare routine, because it literally does not take any time at all. It sinks so fast you won't even noticed it. So it generally would not add extra time on your already-long routine.

As I told you above, I can felt the difference on my skin only after two days of adding this ampoule in my skincare routine. Now my skin is in a lot better condition than it was before using this ampoule. Seeing my skin gets healed brings a happy feeling for me, and in my photos I looked like I have a healthy glow in my face (which makes me happy too ^_^). 

I will definitely recommend this ampoule to everyone because I think this can be used for most skin types especially if you have anti-aging concern like me (^_^).

Trying out new brands is one of my favorite thing to do when it comes to skincare or makeup. I love trying out new brands and new products. Sometimes I found them works really well with me or other times I found them not doing so good on me. So it's all about the experiences, trying to find which products work well for you is fun and challenging at times (^_^).

Now this is a new-to-me skincare brand that I found works really well with my skin. I usually purchased this brand from Watsons / Guardian / Century because they usually have some kind of discounts and special promotions on this brand.

Corine de Farme is a French brand which belongs to Sarbec Cosmetics which is the first independent family-owned French group with more than 35 years of experience. They are just a tad bit expensive but it's not too pricey compared to Bioderma and the likes. I know "pricetag" is relative to each person, but I personally think they are actually quite affordable considering that they are a French skincare brand (especially when they're on sale).

The first product I tried from Corine de Farme is their Purity Micellar Water. As you know, a Micellar Water is a no-rinse formula that you use with cotton pads to remove makeup and dirt off your face. This is similar with the famous Bioderma Micellar Water but this one is cheaper. The difference in price is quite significant especially if you buy this on sale. 

I was always using the big bottle (500ml) of Bioderma Micellar Water before, and when I finished my last bottle I was contemplating to re-purchase it again because of the price. Then I saw in Instagram about Corine de Farme micellar water and how they also have it in 500ml bottle just like Bioderma. I then read some reviews and most of them said it was good if not better than Bioderma. A couple days later I went into Watsons and saw it in person, but the sale was not much so I didn't get it. But then I saw it again in Guardian and it was on huge sale! So I grab one of the big bottle and came home with it.

Review:

I like it from the first start. There are two kinds of micellar water from Corine de Farme. The one I chose is the one with clear/pink sticker which has peony flower extract, and meant for dry/sensitive skin. My skin is combination towards oily but I have no problem using this at all. The other one has a clear/blue sticker and enriched with cornflower extract and meant for all skin types (it has gel texture instead of water).  

I personally think the formula is pretty much similar with Bioderma. It can remove and lift off my makeup as well as dirt and dust off my face. Both Bioderma and Corine de Farme micellar water are not sticky and not too runny either so the formula and texture is very similar. The only difference is probably the subtle lovely scent of the Corine de Farme micellar water where as the Bioderma doesn't have any scent at all. I personally love if the products I'm using has a slightly lovely scent as it feels elegant and relaxes me a bit too. The other differences is on the packaging. Corine de Farme has a lock-able pump bottle which makes it easier to use, whereas Bioderma came with a regular cap bottle.

Corine de Farme Gentle Rose Toner

After my first successful experience with Corine de Farme Micellar Water I then started to spy on their other products. When I saw them on Sale I didn't hesitate to grab one of the products home. This second time around I went home with their Gentle Rose Toner.

Review:

Corine de Farme Gentle Rose Toner is meant for normal skin but I think most skin types can use this as the formula is very light and gentle, and it's just a toner anyway :)

This gentle toner also has a subtle lovely scent and helps soothes the skin and restores skin comfort. It also helps removing the last traces of makeup and dirt after using face wash or the micellar water. It contains 99% natural ingredients and is paraben free, colourant free, and hypoallergenic - which is great for troubled skin as well :)

Both of these Corine de Farme products work really well for my combination skin and they frequently go on sale in Guardian / Watsons / Century and the likes (check out all stores before you buy because sometimes they have different promotions). I also love their elegant packaging and hey, they are French! (^_^).

So I would recommend Corine de Farme to those who haven't tried this brand yet and I myself would also be checking out their other products. I'm already spying on their serums and eyecare now :)

Setelah kemarin dunia per-makeup-an diguncang oleh kehadiran BB Cream dan kemudian CC Cream, maka sekarang telah hadir pula DD Cream !

Kebetulan sebelumnya saya sudah pernah coba BB Cream dan CC Cream, jadi sekarang saya pun penasaran sama kehadiran DD Cream. Kebetulan nih Wardah ngeluarin versi DD Cream yang sekaligus sebagai anti-sun lotion alias perlindungan terhadap sinar matahari.

Wardah C-Defense DD Cream ini mengandung SPF 30+ dengan kandungan hi-grade vitamin C yang berfungsi sebagai anti-oksidan sekaligus membantu mencerahkan warna kulit serta menghaluskan dan meratakan warna kulit pada wajah. 

I like multi-purpose product like this! 

Jadi selain sebagai base makeup, produk ini pun berfungsi sebagai perawatan terhadap anti-oksidan dan melindungi kulit dari sinar matahari.

Cara pakainya bisa setelah memakai moisturizer atau bisa juga dipake langsung tanpa moisturizer karena tekstur DD Cream ini cukup lembut dan dapat melembabkan wajah juga. Biasanya sih kalau saya sedang terburu-buru saya langsung aja pake DD Cream ini tanpa pake moisturizer lagi. Hasilnya kulit wajah tetap halus lembab dan make up juga tetap stay di kulit seperti biasanya :)

Wardah DD Cream ini terdiri dari dua shades yaitu shade Natural & shade Light. Kebetulan saya dapat shade yang Light. 

Shade Light ini menurut saya warnanya cukup netral dan saya rasa bisa digunakan untuk hampir semua warna kulit wajah asalkan ditunggu dulu sampai benar-benar meresap. Pertama di aplikasikan ke kulit memang akan terlihat "putih" tapi kalau di saya sih lama-lama warna "putih" nya akan hilang dan akan menyesuaikan dengan warna kulit wajah. Jadi biasanya setelah pakai DD Cream ini saya tunggu dulu kira-kira 10-15 menit sambil bikin alis atau makeup mata hehe..

Untuk teksturnya sendiri formulanya lembut dan cepat meresap di kulit tanpa menimbulkan rasa lengket dan tidak mengakibatkan kulit jadi mengkilap. Untuk kulit saya yang kombinasi oily saya biasanya harus tambahkan bedak atau cushion foundation lagi diatas DD Cream ini. So far Wardah DD Cream ini oke banget dipakainya. Kulit wajah tetap lembab, makeup tetap nempel, nggak menimbulkan white cast, dan nggak bikin kulit jadi cepet berminyak (selama di layer lagi sama bedak). Sejauh ini saya masih pakai ini untuk base makeup sehari-hari saya, kadang sebagai pengganti moisturizer juga kalau saya lagi malas dan pengen cepet selesai.

Overall, I would recommend this product sebagai produk multi fungsi yang oke banget untuk dipakai sehari-hari. Selain kandungan Vitamin C nya yang membantu mencerahkan wajah, Wardah DD Cream ini juga mengandung Vitamin B3 yang membantu membuat kulit tampak lebih cerah, Vitamin E sebagai anti-oksidan, dan Allantoin yang membantu proses regenerasi kulit. Ditambah lagi dengan kandungan SPF 30 nya yang membantu memberikan perlindungan optimal terhadap sinar UV. A multi-layered benefit in one product! (^_^)

I have been lacking on my skincare routine again lately, I even neglected my weekly face mask routine. I haven't done any face mask in the past three weeks so I put on my Freeman's Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals Mask this afternoon while in the shower. But today I won't talk about the Freeman's mask because it's reserved for another post. Today I would like to talk about this sheet mask that I've tried a few weeks back. It is the Astalift Moisturizing Mask. 

I actually got this mask a long time ago but I have just used this recently. Astalift is a Japanese cosmetic brand under the FujiFilm Company. It's main ingredient is Astaxanthin which is a signature ingredient created by FujiFilm company. Aside from Astaxanthin, this sheet mask also contains Collagen, Damask rose, Royal jelly, Elastin, Hydrolyzed soy flour, and Rye seed extract. 

This is one of those unique mask that I tried once in a while. It is unique because it consists of two little pieces of sheet masks! So inside the packaging you'll have a top-half part and bottom half part. 

Each two piece of the sheet masks contains 35ml of Astalift essence that supposedly plumps fine lines and bring radiance to dehydrated and tired-looking skin. At least, that's what it says on the website.

 Behold the scary face :

It has a vibrant orange color (which is part of the fun!), has lots of essence and smells wonderful with a hint of soft citrus or orange peel. It also left a lot of essence inside the packaging in which I then used it on my arms, neck, and legs.

The texture is thick, almost like jelly consistency. It does seems very small at first but it has an elastic stretchable shape so I can pull and tug to make it cover every corner of my face thoroughly.

When worn, this mask gave an instant relaxing and soothing effect to the skin. A little bit stingy at first but only for a few seconds. It stays put on my face even when I'm walking back and forth between the kitchen and my bedroom when using it. The overall effect is very cooling.

I put it on for about 30 minutes and afterwards my face looks instantly plumped, firm, lifted, and supple, also very well-hydrated. Overall my face looks youthful :)
