Late [ Outfit Diary ] : Singapore Mini Getaway
3:43:00 PM
Hey you guys... How are you doin'?
Initially I was preparing for my vacation outfit diary from my recent Lombok trip, but then I remember that I haven't published my Singapore outfit diary that's been in my draft for many months, so I thought today I'd finished that post first before uploading my outfit diary from our recent Lombok trip.
By the way, a little disclaimer, I have always love to see what other people wore on their vacation trip or what they wore for the airport because it inspires me to know what I would wear on my own vacation and airport trip. So I hope this post would do the same for you, I hope this post would somehow inspire you even just for a little bit, just like I got inspired by other blogger's posts :)
Day 1
So we start at day 1 where we took an afternoon plane from Jakarta and landed in Singapore in the evening. Usually for airport trips (or any traveling trip either by car, train, or plane) I always go for something warm and comfy without sacrificing style. I mean it's a little bit hard finding a balance between comfort clothes (i.e slacks) while at the same time trying to look cute and chic, because comfy clothes usually means "baggy outfit", the "don't care what I look" or "lounge pants + slacks". And most of the time it looks sloppy. But I always try to look more chic than sloppy, and it's not really easy finding the balance between the two. Anyway I try to find clothes that are comfortable enough for me to wear for a few hours on an airport/airplane, and I usually would always do some layering because I get cold easily especially in air-conned room such as inside the plane. So here's what I come up for our departure / airport trip :
Airport / Departure
Wearing | Gap Denim Shirt + Uniqlo Jeggings + H&M Scarf
+ American Eagle Lace Shoes + Longchamp Le Pliage (Small Short Handle)
+ American Eagle Lace Shoes + Longchamp Le Pliage (Small Short Handle)
Travel Bags : Polo Milano black n White City Print Luggage + Longchamp Le Pliage (Large Long Handle) as Cabin Bag
Later in the evening (nearing midnight actually) we were already taking our first stroll in the city. We went straight to the hotel from the airport to check in, and then we put our luggage in our room, I did a quick change of outfit and off we go looking for dinner around the Singapore river / Esplanade area. We originally planned to eat at Makan Sutra Glutton's Bay near the Esplanade but unfortunately it was closing up when we get there so we basically hurried to get there for nothing (boo.. *sad face*). We ended up taking a taxi home and bought a lamb murtabak at an Indian restaurant near our hotel for our very late dinner that night. I did a quick change of outfit by changing my denim top and animal print scarf into a slouchy tee and a thin scarf. To cut the changing time I already prepared my outfit beforehand and put them inside my cabin bag (the large Longchamp le pliage) so I don't have to open the luggage and scramble for clothes :

Day 2
We only had 3 days in Singapore so our schedule was very tight. On the 2nd day our plan is to walk around Kampong Glam and Arab Street (basically just for pictures and looking at the Sultan Mosque) by taking a short bus ride from our hotel, then we'll go straight to Sentosa Island for our main purpose of the trip which is : going to the USS. It's my 2nd time going to Universal Studios Singapore but it was hubby's 1st time so I'll be giving him the guide :)
Before going to the USS we made our first stop at the last station in Sentosa island to have brunch and ride the Luge & Skyride. We've been to Singapore a couple times but never rode the Luge/Skyride and we've always been curious with it, so I'm glad we finally crossed that from our list.

After almost a full day at the USS we made another stop, still in Sentosa island, which is the 3D Trick Eye Museum. I changed my clothes for the 3D Trick Eye Museum because I'm already sweating and it was a bit wet from the Jurassic Park ride too. I bring a change of clothes with me and changed in the USS bathroom just before we went out the exit door. Later at night we made another stop at Mustafa Centre to buy some gifts before catching the last train to our hotel.

Day 3
On the last day of our short trip we made time to Bugis street, Tintin shop, and the China Town. We almost ran out of time because our flight was in the afternoon and I wanted some extra time in the airport to check out the duty free shops !
Wearing | GU Navy Blue Knit Sweater Vest + United Colors of Benetton Tanktop (worn underneath)
+ Random Brand Polkadot Navy Shorts + Etsy Necklace (c/o) + American Eagle Lace Shoes +
Longchamp Le Pliage Tote Bag (Large Long Handle)

I purchased the GU (Japanese brand) knit vest and polkadot shorts (and the striped Johnny & Berry dress above) just a few weeks before departing to Singapore. It becomes a customary rituals for me lately : buying something new to be worn on a holiday. It's such a bad habit because it's really bad for my wallet. Luckily I don't go on vacation very often ;)
Anyway, later in the early afternoon we head back to the hotel to get our luggage and then went straight to the airport via the MRT. I changed my outfit at one of the MRT station because I can't go on a plane in shorts, I'd be cold. So I changed into something more covered incase I get cold on the airplane.
Duty Free - Airport / Arrival
Wearing | Zara Tribal Print Cardigan + Random brand Striped Tank + Uniqlo Jegging
+ Longchamp Le Pliage Tote Bag (LLH) + H&M Leopard Print Scarf
+ Tory Burch Two Tone Jelly Bow Ballet in classic khaki/black

On day 3 my feet just couldn't take it anymore. My legs are sore and my shoes are hurting from all the walks we did during our 3 days super tight schedule. I actually needed time to rest my feet at one of the MRT stops that day because my shoes are hurting my feet so bad. So what I did once we arrived at the airport is head straight to the duty free and looked for shoes! Because my shoes are really really worn out by day 3 and it is hurting my feet like crazy. I went to Tory Burch because they have a little sale though not so much, but I ended up getting a jelly shoes that weren't on sale :(
The jelly shoes felt so cooling and relaxing on my feet when I tried it on, especially after wearing a very worn out shoes that makes my feet burned and sore all day, the jelly shoes just felt so heavenly. So I ended up getting one and changed my shoes on the spot (because I just couldn't take it anymore, my feet is really sore and burning).

PS : On this trip I brought two Longchamp Le Pliages (one small and one large). The small one is for our daily vacation schedules while the large one is great for cabin bag. They are proven to be very versatile and light and durable too. They can be folded when not in use, so that would save extra space inside the luggage / bag. These Longchamp Le Pliage bags are so perfect for travel!
