[SKINCARE]: NIP+FAB Glycolic Daily Cleansing Pads
8:19:00 PM
Last year I began my journey in skincare. I have always loved skincare and it's been my focus for this blog, but last year it just got a little bit deeper. I started reading Caroline Hiron's blog (just like everybody else) and decided to splurge on some new things that I continuously add to my skincare routine.
I tried Japanese skincare with Chizu Saeki method, and I also incorporate the 10 steps Korean skincare into my routine. Last but not least, I started adding actives / acids into my skincare routine after reading Hiron's blog.
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads
This
was the first acid I've tried. From what I read, if you never add
actives/acids before in your routine then you might want to start slow
first. The actives in this product is considered "light" and it also
comes in a "cleansing pads" form, so it's not a pure "actives" in my
opinion. I chose this because I actually tried a similar product once
(read my review on Jean Pierre Facial Cleansing Pads with Microbeads), but I didn't know that it contains acids so I just used it without really knowing the benefits of it.
This
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads is basically a cleansing pad
with an exfoliating properties. Inside the jar is pieces of individual
pads that are soaked in 2.8% glycolic acid. It also contain witch hazel,
hyaluronic acid, and soothing blue daisy - all helps to retexturized and
brightens the skin, or so the package says.
Glycolic acid is an active ingredient that's able to penetrate into the skin's deep layers, so it's able to give more beneficial treatments to our skin problem. It is effective for treating fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness, oiliness, etc.
Although this is a cleansing pad but I don't solely
use it as my only cleansing product. I usually would remove my makeup
off with another makeup remover and then clean my face with another face
wash, and then I added this cleansing pads after I thoroughly clean my
face. Or if I'm not using makeup that day I would just wash my face with
a face wash first and then continue cleansing my face with this cleansing
pads.
After 2 weeks of using it and trying on different skincare steps to compliment it, I finally learn that I can't use it with my AHA toner because then my skin would be aggravated. I also can't use it together with BHA because it seems that my skin is not agreeing with the combination of AHA+BHA in strong quantity. So what I do is I alternate this product with my BHA product (CosRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid) every other day, and it works just fine for me.
This was my
first active/acid experience and I'm not sure if this works for me, because when I first
tried it my skin broke out right away. The next morning after I used this the first time I suddenly have
new bumps in places that I don't normally have problems with. So it's
either my skin does not agree with glycolic acid / AHA, or I still
haven't grasp the perfect step-by-step formula to use this acid yet.

I use this at night after cleansing and before face mist. I also always wear sunscreen in the morning every time I use AHA product. Then I double cleanse at night. I love how this cleansing pads feel refreshing on my skin and how it can lift off dirt and makeup residue that's left on my skin even after I double cleanse!
I don't really see the difference on my skin even after I finished this product, but I still love using it because of its practicality and because it feels cooling and comfortable on my skin. Maybe my skin doesn't go so well with Glycolic acid so I might not repurchase this, but I'd still love to try the other version (Nip+Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Cleansing Pads) with salicylic and hyaluronic acid, and see how that would go on my skin.
How bout you? Have you tried any AHA/ BHA products lately?
Hugs & Kissies,
