[FRAGRANCE DIARY]: Scent Of The Day(s) | Feb 19 - 25, 2018

Hey ya guys...

As you might probably noticed, I've been putting some perfumes and fragrances posts here lately (the latest ones being Gucci Bamboo perfume review and Jo Malone colognes review). That's because I am more into "perfumes" nowadays, more than ever. Well I have always been enthusiastic with fragrances (as you can see from my previous candles and perfume posts here in this blog), but now my interest in fragrances - especially perfumes - is taking up a notch. I am very intrigued to learn more about perfumes as it is one thing that I have always been enthusiastic about.

Although I still have my love for candles and scented lotions or scented-anythings, now I want to focus more on "perfumes" as I already have a few selections in my vanity (actually not really much) and wanted to expand them. I want to know more about perfumes, not only from designer perfumes range but also niche scents and et cetera..

So if you see lots of perfume-related articles in the next several posts, you'll know the reason why ... :)

Some of the perfume-related posts I have planned to write in this blog are: perfume reviews, perfume edits (where I pick perfumes from my own collection, depending on season or occasions), and "fragrance diary" such as what I'm about to write today.

The fragrance diary post will be about a short daily diary of mine including what "scent" I wore for the day. I used to have a signature scent (The Body Shop White Musk edt) but now I don't do that anymore. Nowadays I like to change my perfume every day, depending on my mood, weather, and occasion. Just like what I do with candles. So in this new series of "Scents of The Day" I will list my daily perfume picks which I chose from my own collection. I don't have a big collection of perfumes yet so these are mostly from either full size perfumes or vials and decants.

SOTD : Paco Rabanne Lady Million

After an afternoon busy with my computer I'm heading downstairs for a cup of iced mocha latte with hubby. I quickly sprayed Paco Rabanne Lady Million - which is one of popular perfume for modern woman. I thought the modern feminine floral in this perfume is perfect for a nice little coffee date with hubby.

SOTD : (1st trial) Gucci Guilty Intense

Someone put a satirical quote on the social media, aiming to offend someone with it. But the truth is that quote really applies to the person who put up the quote themselves. So they don't realize that what they say in the internet actually reflects themselves (and really show others what kind of person he/she is) 😏 That's why, you should look into the mirror before you dish anybody, right? Anyway, we went grocery shopping in the evening and had a casual dinner after that (smoked chicken fried rice, anybody?). This is my first time trying Gucci Guilty Intense (from vial) and maybe I was expecting more because of the hype, but it didn't give me a wow moment. It is a nice scent afterall but it's just not really my type of scent. But I will try it again later before I made up my mind.

SOTD : Miniso Meeting You EDP - eau de parfum

Our friend's father recently passed away so we went into his house together with other friends to give our condolence. I'm wearing Miniso Meeting You because this is the one perfume that you won't get overwhelmed no matter how much you spray, because it's super soft and subtle. A very delicate white floral gardenia mixed with baby powder. This kind of scent is perfect for this kinda somber occasion because you won't risk offending someone with your scent ;)

SOTD : Creed Love in White

Today we visited my Parents in Law's house before they departed to Japan for holiday. I don't want to wear too serious or too strong perfume as we would just stay at our in law's house until they depart for the airport, so I'm choosing something soft today. The Creed Love in White is my favorite Creed perfume for women so far (but I haven't tried that many Creed women perfume yet), I love how subdued and delicate the white florals in this perfume. It feels like wearing pure white linen dress while sitting in a serene lakeside surrounded by white petals :) Oh so soft... too bad it doesn't last that long on me..

SOTD : L'Occitane Verveine / Verbena

My schedule was pretty busy this week so today I decided to just stay at home and do some late blogging works. But I had low quality sleep last night, I couldn't sleep until like 5:30 am and then woke up just 5 hours later, so the lack of sleep made me feeling un-energetic this morning. So I picked up the most invigorating and exhilirating fragrance in my (small) collection right now which is the L'occitane Verveine. This is so zesty and fresh like you just got showered with a lime citrusy juice. Really awakens my senses and made me feel energized and focused again to do my work.

SOTE : Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir

After I've done my blogging work for today I decided to wash up and changed my scent for the evening. I picked up something that I haven't worn in a while which is the Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. I had this in vial and there's only a couple spritzes left so I'll be saving that last spritz for future events. This Pomegranate Noir was the one I praised in my last Jo Malone review, but I don't know why now that I smelled it again I'm not so sure about it anymore. Maybe because the season already changes? I love balsamic notes back in winter but now we're entering another season so maybe the balsamic note is too strong now. So maybe I'd consider this again for next winter?

SOTD : (1st trial) Coach EDP - Eau De Parfum

We went gift hunting at several stores today, looking for a gift for our friends W & O who just had their baby. We plan to go by their house tomorrow so I was determined to find the gift today. After finding the gift (a set of baby clothes), we visited my mom’s house which was nearby the baby gift store. I’m trying new perfume vial today which is Coach edp that was so lovely since the first spray. I definitely fell for this perfume because it just smells beautiful and lovely, but too bad just like any other perfume that i like, this Coach edp also didn't last long and didn't give any projection/sillage on me 😔

SOTD : Jo Malone Wild Bluebell

Today we visited O & W ‘s house to see their baby. We went there along with our other friends too. I wore Jo Malone wild bluebell because I know that I will be near a newborn baby and probably will pick him up, so I don't want my perfume to be too strong for the baby. I chose Jo Malone wild bluebell that has a toned down version of sweet floral scent, almost like a clean soft floral fragrance with hints of soft powder and sweet bluebells. It was either this perfume or Creed’s love in white again, but I end up choosing this one because I'm currently re-testing all my Jo Malones again. I am planning to buy my first full size bottle of Jo Malone but still haven't decide which ones I should buy first because they're expensive and I can only buy one at a time (the smaller bottle, mind you). So I'm kinda pulling up all my Jo Malone vials and decants to remember how they smell on me, so I can make my final decision.
