I love the scent of lemon verbena as soon as I sniffed it for the first time from a L'occitane Verbena shampoo sample years ago! Then I found out that there's also a fragrance version of it, so I purchased the travel set immediately because it includes an eau de toilette (EDT) that I would love to try.

I have only tried a few L'Occitane fragrances before, and Verbena or Verveine (depends on which country you get it from) is one of the nicest fragrance I love from their range of fragrances. I don't typically love lemon / citrusy fragrance because sometimes they make me sick, but the lemon verbena scent is definitely an exception. 

I bought the travel set from L'occitane that comes with a pouch, a 10ml Verveine EDT and body lotion, as well as a regular L'occitane lipbalm (not from the Verveine range). I also already have the 25ml size Verveine Shower Gel at home. So I kinda have them in a set (travel size wise).

L'occitane Verveine / Verbena

Comes in an eau de toilette version instead of parfum. It has a bright vibrant citrus at the opening that will instantly lift you up and give you a refreshing and invigorating feel. It feels like showering with citrus lime water, so fresh! 

But then the cheerful refreshing notes quickly toned down (which I was disappointed because I love that fresh zingy scent!), leaving you with a more pared down version of lemon zest. And this is what I smelled the whole time I'm wearing it, a fresh toned-down lemon zest scent. So I’d say this is more of a linear scent because there's not much difference from the opening to the dry downs.

Sillage and projection, not so much. You can defo smell a strong projection of the bright lemon citrus notes at the opening, but it only lasted for a few minutes before it leveled down. After that it was only moderate-to-low sillage and projection.

Longevity, as what others might also experienced, citrusy notes tend to only lasts for a short time, so this one does too. It only lasted for a good 2-3 hrs on me before it’s completely gone and I have to reapply again. But because I have the travel size bottle I don't mind reapplying it every few hours because I can bring the cute little bottle with me everywhere.

L'Occitane Verveine does gave me energized feeling and helps banished tiredness just like what the Ad says in their UK website. I like to wear this one specifically in hot summer days or when I was feeling lazy in the morning but have tons of things to do that day. Wearing this would lift my mood  up immediately and the world seems bright and cheerful again and I feel like I have a new spirit to do anything :)

All the Verveine range of products that I have, from the body lotion, shower gel, and the EDT has the same fragrance. So when wearing them all at the same time would make the scent lasts longer and stronger too. The shower gel also smells nice and makes you feel really refreshed in the shower. And the body lotion got absorbed by my skin easily without any greasy residue. 

Overall, L'Occitane Verveine/Verbena really is what the advertisement says: a bright and dazzling eau de toilette to awaken body and mind. Too bad this just doesn't last long, but that's what typical citrusy scents normally do. So I probably won't purchase the full size, though I might repurchase the travel size again for that pick-me-up scent, and because this is probably the only lemon/citrusy fragrance that I can stand and even loved 😀
