[ Perfume ] : MARC JACOBS Decadence

So here's a quick perfume review for you..

I'm thinking of creating another blog where I can talk just about perfume in bahasa, so let me know if that's a good idea or not ...

Anyway, this perfume has been on my wish list ever since I saw the bottle in some youtubers video. I really adore the chic looking purse-shaped bottle, and you know I'm all about cute / unique packaging, right? So sometimes I bought things because of the packaging not because of the product itself (*jangan ditiru*).

So anyhoo... I decided to just bought the miniature version first because I just love the bottle but not sure yet about the fragrance because I read lots of different things about the scent. Some people love it and some people don't. So I don't want to buy the expensive full size bottle without knowing that I would love it, or if the scent would stay on my skin (because most perfume don't stay on my skin that long).

The mini version is also very cute. What differentiate it is the mini size doesn't have the tassel chain, and the cap is gold color, while the full size has a snake pattern cap.

Top - Italian Plum, Saffron, Iris

Middle - Bulgarian Rose, Sambac Jasmine, Orris Root

Bottom - Warm Liquid Amber, Vetiver, Papyrus Wood

The Scent

When I first smelled it my first impression was: "Very fruity". I think it's definitely the plum in it. It smells very sweet like a ripe fruit. Then after 15 mins the sweet fruity scent blended with the floral undertones (mostly jasmine to my nose), and created a softer mix of fruity floral that smells so good and yummy and sexy - all at the same time!

And then the dry down comes afterwards, and it is a sweet warm velvety finish. Quite a sophisticated yet very sexy dry downs if I may say so.

As I told you, there are different reviews for this perfume as some people love the scent while some other don't. I'm glad I'm one of those who love it. I love fruity scent, and I also love gourmand scent, so if you're like me then you might like this one too :)

I can tell that people have different opinions about this perfume. It is certainly not for every person, because this is definitely meant for those who are not afraid to wear scent other than "sweet girly" scent.

If you only like sweet girly / light & airy floral scents, then you might not like this one. But if you like taking chances or be different than the others, or if you’re the “girlboss” type who always know what she wants, then this is a perfume you might wanna try. Also, in my head I think this is a perfume that Carrie Bradshaw would wear on one of her girls night out ;)

Sillage & Projection

On me, the projection is moderate and the Longevity is good.

Even after a few hours and after I washed my hands with soap and water the scent is still there! But it didn’t lasts all night though.. And I find myself reapplying it twice in a day, from morning til night. But overall, it’s still long enough compared to most other perfumes I’ve tried so far :)

There is another Marc Jacobs perfume that looks similar to this one but it's the "Divine Decadence", while this one is the "Decadence". I haven't tried the Divine Decadence yet so I don't know how that one would smell. So just make sure you try and purchase the right one :)

Overall, this perfume smells fruity and tart, but yet elegant and sensual. I really like this perfume. Even on my empty stomach it didn’t smell cloying. And the sexy dry down is the best!

I just love this perfume. And to add that super cute purse-shaped bottle to my collection. Oh my.. it looks so cute on my vanity, and it is always a conversation starter when I bring this along in my bag for touch ups.

This is definitely on my wish list for my next full size perfume bottle! As I told you, right now I only got this perfume in miniature size, and it’s also cute and shaped like a green purse, but the full size bottle is even cuter! The full size bottle has a tassel, a chain handle, and a python-textured cap! So hopefully I can gather enough money to buy this in full size bottle in a few months 😀
