This is an old product but I still use it until now because it's very moisturising for when my skin gets dry.
It is a staple in my skincare routine, so I think I'mma review this one as well...
Guerisson 9 Complex Essence is part of the "9 Complex" skincare range from Guerisson - which is a brand from Claire's Korea. It was my first time trying a product from Guerisson and I remember as soon as I saw the horse on the bottle packaging I am sold right away, Lol. I love horses :)
Anyway, everything in the box is in hangeul so I don’t understand any of it (*i’m sorry*), but according to the information I gathered this is an essence made of horse oil and 9 types of herbal extracts. It is said to rejuvenates dull & lack-lustrous skin by quenching skin's thirst. It also effectively forms a protective barrier against environmental aggressors.
It renews and nourishes skin with galactomyces, ceramide, betaine, and 9 herbal extracts; which helps to enhance skin tone and texture, helps maintain natural moisture levels, as well as hydrates, softens, and brightens the face. Oh and it is also said that this essence also gently eliminates dead skin cells that cause dullness and roughness on skin.
Seems like so many benefits and functions, right?
Well, after using it for many months I can say that the number one benefit I got from this essence is how moisturising it is.
The essence is really nice for my currently-dehydrated skin. The texture is watery but thick, and it felt cooling on the skin upon application. It has a subtle lovely scent so if you don't like scented skincare then please take notice of this. I never mind scented skincare as long as it smells good and non-offensive (not like the rotten egg / earthy smell of Antipodes Joyous Serum, eww!) so I'm okay with the scent of this essence. I think it smells okay.
The essence took a couple minutes to be fully sinked in to the skin, but it instantly gives a moisturizing feeling. I like to layer it again with my other skincare (like a moisturiser or a face serum) so that it helps keep the essence sealed underneath the skin.
I think this essence may be too thick for super oily skin, so if you have oily skin you might want to stick to using this only in the evening instead of the morning. If you have dry skin this would be a saviour for your skin as it is a thick moisturising watery essence.
I have combination skin and I only use this essence mostly at night, because that's when my skin is dry because of the air con that I turned on all night. So a layer of this thick moisturising essence is enough to keep my skin from drying.
I also like to use it as a sheet mask, by dipping a compressed facial mask with this essence so that it has the properties of this essence. (Tau kan, masker compressed yang polosan yang belum ada essence nya, jadi kita bisa pakai essence apa aja yang kita punya untuk dipake maskeran).
After using it for many weeks I just realized that my skin is actually in better condition now. My pigmentation spots seems to subtly fades away and the breakouts I was having is no more :)
My skin is also more balanced and hydrated, making it supple and smoother to touch.

Overall, this is a moisturising essence that will help your dehydrated and/or dry skin. It moisturizes and hydrates your skin as well as protect it from environment aggressors. I also noticed how extra plumped my skin is when I'm using this under my moisturizer. A longer routine use of this essence gives more benefit to your skin, it really helps with skin texture and condition. And this essence is also nice enough to be layered with other skincare products. Or when I just want some moist on my skin I just put this on solely and forgets the rest ;)
PS: Although the essence boasts horse oil, it is free from steroids & preservatives which keep the formula safe enough to be used on babies' skin.
So, have you tried any of the Guerisson products?
What Korean skincare brand do you like most?
