My Post-Sickness [Skincare] Routine
6:16:00 PM
Hi lovelies...
I'm sorry for the MIA especially since my absent during Ramadhan month because I was mostly sick during the fasting month so I just didn't feel like blogging then. After that we had a full week of Eid celebration that was also a busy week for me as I have a big family, so I couldn't find free time to concentrate on my blogging (we even left our apartment for 2 whole weeks! And I didn't bring my laptop with me).
But I'm still active on my instagram all the time because that is where you could find me most of the time ;)
So anyway, here's a short post for you guys regarding my current skincare routine. I still have a couple of belated posts to upload soon here, so maybe I would post them or maybe I won't 😜
So as I wrote in my instagram (@yurikristia) my skin were acting out with so many breakouts appearing on my forehead and t-zone areas. I guess it was because I was sick like every 2 weeks, so my face especially my forehead was always sweating from the fever. And who would do their skincare routine when they're sick, right? I don't have the energy to do anything when I'm sick, so I couldn't care less about skincare routine.
But that took a toll on my face which I guess was already being used to skincare routine. All those sweats from the fever, and the absence of skincare products made my skin worse. Even those who stands close to me noticed the breakouts on my skin. And they were lots of small bumped up (closed comedones) that look like acnes on my forehead and the temples of my head. So after I regained my health I quickly turned on my skincare products again, and here are the products that I picked out (above photo) :
M O R N I N G . S K I N C A R E :
* Cleanse with Nuxe Reve De Miel Face Cleansing & Make Up Remover Gel
* Mask with Freeman Dead Sea Minerals Anti-stress Mask
* Treatment with Pixi Glow Tonic (my choice for morning's acid)
* Hydrate with The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisture Toner
* Sunscreen with Vitacreme B12 Day Cream Sun Protection
Extra :
* Lip Moisture : Nuxe Reve De Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm
* Body Wash : Kushie Osmanthus Shower Gel (with petals inside!)
For night time my skincare routine includes a few more products than the morning routine, because at night when we’re sleeping our skin is working and regenerates itself, so it’s the perfect time to add more ingredients to skin.
E V E N I N G . S K I N C A R E :
* Remove makeup with Heimish All Clean Balm Cleanser
* Wash Face with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
* Exfoliate with Sukin Detoxifying Facial Scrub
* Tone with Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener
* Treatment with CosRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid (my choice for evening's acid)
* Hydrate with Hatomugi Skin Conditioner
* Eye treatment with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (for under eye treatment)
* Moisture with Juara Radiance Vitality Oil
* Sealed it all in with Antipodes Avocado & Pear Nourishing Night Cream
----------------------------------
My usual secret weapon when I'm fighting breakouts is usually acids. So what I usually do is I slather on BHA at night, then I put on AHA in the morning (never at the same time). I also changed it up a little bit by adding Dr. Brandnew Hyaluronic Meso Activator Ampoule that is rich in AHA.
And also sunscreen! Using sunscreen is important if you're using acids because acids make our skin more sensitive to the sun, so never skip sunscreen guys...
And if you're using sunscreen, don't forget to always double cleanse at night! Because sometimes sunscreen contains ingredients that can clog our pores, so make sure that you really take that sunscreen residue off your pores by double cleansing at night even if you don't wear much makeup 😉
Last but not least, Face Masks!
I also try to apply some face mask if my skin were acting out, because they help our skin heals faster. I usually changed up my face masks according to what my skin needs. So lately I've been using either the Freeman Dead Sea Minerals Mask (on my "morning routine" photo), or this Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Mud Mask (in above picture👆) that helps draw out toxins, and helps smooths and purifies skin.
Then in the evening I like to use sheet masks instead. I use sheet mask either right after I cleanse my face and use toner + essence/serum, or just before I go to sleep so I can lie in bed and enjoy the mask.
What are your current skincare routine?
Do you use that many products too? Or is your routine more simple than mine?
