My picks for last month (August) candles are only these two. It was a really hot summer and the sun is always shining brightly almost everyday, so the rooms in our apartment were always in high humidity, therefore I didn't feel like burning a candle. I'm afraid I would get dizzy sniffing highly fragranced candle mixed with hot humid weather. So that's why I rarely burned candles during August.
But for those days that I want to occasionally burn candles my picks are just these two tropical summer-beach-themed fragrances, which I burned alternatively. I only burn these candles when the sun was lighter out there, or in the evening when the weather mellowed down a bit.
Better Homes & Gardens Swaying Palm Leaves
This is one of the newest candles I purchased just a few weeks ago. This one has a unique scent, so definitely not for everybody. It has a salty balmy scent that resonates to a sweaty sunny day at the beach. Sounds like a yucky scent but it's not. It's just unique, and I think it is similar to a reality of standing underneath the palm trees in the beach on a very hot sunny day :)
Bath & Body Works Coastal Oak & Sea Salt
Now this has "salt" in the title but the actual scent is not really salty. To my nose it smells like a nice gentleman's cologne mixed with a fresh scent of a good car freshener. I typically don't like the smell of car freshener too, but just try to think of a really good car freshener, then mixed with a nice man's cologne, it smells strangely fresh and beachy, with a little bit touch of saltiness in the air.
Now that summer is getting to an end I can't wait to switch my candles to Fall scents. I know there's no Fall season here in Indonesia but the weather is surely more windy and colder during October - January, so that's when I let out my Fall & Winter candles :)
Now, have you tried any of Better Homes & Gardens Candles? Read my review here if you haven't :
