I haven't posted about my #weeklyfacemask in a long time. And that's because in real life I haven't used them for a very long time hehe I wasn't in the mood to do a super diligent skincare routine, so I slacked off a lot during the past few weeks. But now my skin feels sluggish and it keeps getting dry and dull at the same time, so I talked myself into doing a more skincare routine again to help my skin condition.
When you used to do a thorough skincare routine and then you slacked off, then your skin would show immediate results of slacking. It would get worse faster than ever, so you should stick to your skincare routine when you're already used to it. But you know, I'm a human being, and sometimes I get lazy, and moody, and just don't really wanna do all those required steps. So I think it's okay to slack off a bit, just don't abandon the ship entirely, if you know what I mean ;)
So anyway, long story short, I'm re-starting my skincare journey again and I tried to use sheet masks at least once a week, because I found that when your skin is acting out, using sheet masks really help your skin into better condition. I chose a "Rose" themed sheet masks the other week because my skin was rather irritated and dry, and I thought rose extracts would help calms it down a little bit as rose contains anti-inflammatory properties. I had two rose sheet masks in my mask box so I chose those two which I used on alternate days within a week.
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze “Rose” Mask
I really love the packaging of this sheet mask, isn't it beautiful? With those pastel pink color! This is from their older "It's real squeeze mask" version. The ingredient list are all in Hangeul (Korean writing) so I cannot really say what are in this mask.

I tried to google-translate it and it says that this mask would "help give a smooth and brighter skin with the fragrant moisture of rose. It also helps moisturize the skin. The Jeju Green Complex (Jeju green tea, citrus, Paekyun leaves, Ranun extracts) would help smooths out skin, and the essence helps nourishes the skin."
Well pretty much something like that hehe.. (blame the google app, don't blame me. LOL).
But anyway, from my experience trying on this mask, this Innisfree version of Rose mask does has a hydrating properties. The sheet mask itself has medium thickness and wetness. It felt comforting on skin although nothing very special worth to mention when I use it. Except that it helps hydrates my skin and restore some moist back into my dry area. It also did makes my skin feels smooth. So I guess they're not lying in their advertisement and really did its job. Oh and I didn't smell the rose scent like advertised, maybe it's too subtle?
Etude House "Damask Rose" Mask
Another rose mask but from another Korean brand. This Damask Rose Mask is from Etude House and it claims to provide fresh moisture for dry skin. It also came in Hangeul so I googled it again and it says that this sheet mask "is also meant to improve wrinkle and give skin a clear look (?) while relieving thirst from the skin."

Anyway, it literally means that it's good for hydration and improving wrinkle (because wrinkles usually comes from dry skin condition, our skin gets more dry when we age). This Damask Rose Mask has a medium thickness of sheet, and a subtle scent. It feels very wet but not dripping. I felt a tingling / slightly burning sensation on skin but I hope it’s just the formula working its magic on my sensitive combi skin. Afterwards my skin felt so moist and well hydrated. It feels a bit sticky on some parts though, but I don't really care as long as it helps me avoid dry skin in the morning (because I used this at night before sleep).

Overall, I like all two "Rose" sheet masks above. I think they both deliver the job as they advertised. And they both are not dripping, and that's a number one plus point for me, because I hate dripping wet sheet masks. I also like putting some rose extracts / ingredients when my skin is dry because I think it helps with the hydration and moisturizing. I feel that my combination skin is back to normal after using these two rose masks. So I'd probably buy another rose masks again in the future for when my combi skin is more dry than usual.
