Okay, now let's start the shampoo review!
Shampoo is always a hard thing for me. I've tried soooo many different shampoos trying to find the best ones for my hair, because I have oily scalp and dry strands, so most shampoo in the market is either makes my hair limp and lifeless, or ignites dandruff. It's not easy for me to find a good shampoo that can give my hair volume and light bounce. The only shampoo that fulfill all my criteria is the Mane n' Tail Shampoo, but I've been using it over and over again so I kinda get bored with it and wanted to try something new.
I found this Petal Fresh Rosemary & Mint Volumizing Shampoo in Ranch Market. It's an organic shampooo made from natural ingredients. It has organic Rosemary extracts that helps strengthen hair and help condition scalp. As well as Babassu Oil and Chamomile that gently moisturize and help fine hair look fuller and healthier.
I was hooked on the packaging because the bottle and the label design is so pretty and kinda apothecary-like :) I knew I shouldn't have bought the big bottle right away because I've never tried this shampoo before and what if it doesn't work with my hair? But then I looked at the bottle again and I really liked it, so I set aside my thoughts and blind-buy it anyway.
In my mind I thought it would be great to found a natural / organic shampoo that could work with my combi hair condition, so then I would use less chemicals and could be environment-friendly. But I know deep in my heart that usually my hair and natural shampoo never goes well together. All the natural shampoo I've tried before always make my hair limp and lifeless.
And yes, sadly this shampoo did too :(
The ingredients itself sounds great and promising, with Rosemary that can deeply conditions and promotes strong hair follicles, resulting in reduced hair loss & more voluminous locks. And also Mints, that are high in Vitamin A and can helps to calm and soothe while strengthening the hair. Overall, the organic rosemary combined with mint is supposedly helps hair to gain natural volume and give some lifts to thin flat hair.
The ingredients sounds amazing, right? And the website also says that it should "help provide volume and body to hair, creating a luscious, bouncy locks" - but sadly it didn't do any of that for my hair. In fact, my fine hair gets limp and lifeless with no volume in sight. It also made my scalp greasy easily too, so I'd have to wash my hair every day instead of every 2-3 days like I used to.
I've tried it with different conditioners and also on its own, but everything I've tried has failed with this shampoo. I don't think it's suitable for my hair and I hate the greasy feeling and limp flat hair it gave me. So I gave this shampoo to my husband so he can used it instead so it would not go to waste. And I guess I'll just get back to my trusted Mane n' Tail Shampoo again..
Hugs n' Kissies,
