Fragrance Picks : Fall Scents 2019

We're officially entering rainy season now, which I'd like to call : "Indonesian Fall Season" - because although we don't officially have Autumn/Fall here but usually at this time of year you would see old leaves falling from the trees and got swept by the wind just before the rain falls. We have a big mango tree in my parents house that always shed its leaves during this time of the year, and I also noticed old leaves falling on top of our car from the big trees in the parking lot, so that's why I think Indonesia also has its own version of Fall season 😉

Anyway, it's time for a new "Fragrance Picks" series! And it's time for me to switch up my perfumes and my candles. I always rotate my perfumes and candles regularly because not everything is suitable for all seasons. Some scents are better enjoyed in colder weather like todays weather, and some lighter scents such as aquatic notes are more suitable for hot weather like summer. So that's why I always rotate my fragrances to match the season. And also because I want to make sure that I used up all my candles and perfumes so I don't waste any money by just letting them sit as decorative collectible items. One more thing, I would also probably re-post this in my perfume blog "Yuri's Perfume Diary", so you might see the same pictures there :)

So, without further ado, here are my choices for this year's Fall Scents :

First up, Candles :

Tree Harvest Ylang Ylang
This is probably one of my oldest candle. I never burned it out completely because I'm afraid it would melt all over as it doesn't have a "house / jar" of its own. But now I determined to at least try to finish this one because I think the scent is starting to go away with this one.

BBW White Barn Black Cherry Merlot
Hands down, this is my favorite candle scent from Bath & Body Works! I really love the scent of black cherries. It's sweet and gourmand and conjures up everything nice and comfy and sweet in life! I also think it's perfect for the colder weather where it doesn't rain too heavily yet but the sun is not that hot either.

Better Homes & Garden Zesty Lemon Peppercorn
This one is also perfect for the current temperature. The Zesty Lemon Peppercorn scent is definitely not for everyone because it's not a people pleaser. It's rather unique, so maybe not everyone would like this. I also only appreciate this perfume in colder weather because the heavy spicy aroma of this one only suitable for colder season. In summer this smells very pungent and weird, hehe.. But in Fall and Winter this one thrives :)

Now, my perfume choices :

Marc Jacobs Decadence

This is my favorite perfume for Fall! The juicy dark plum aroma of this one is perfect for Fall nights. It then turns into a sweet powdery scent that feels so comfy and huggable due to the vanilla factor in the dry down. I just love this one, and would you just look at the magnificent emerald green "purse" bottle with tassel! How can you not love it, right?

Bond No.9 I Love New York

I always love gourmand scents in Fall and woody scents in Winter (when the rain gets heavy and the temperature drops), so this one is perfect for Fall because it has a very yummy caramel vanilla aroma that's so delicious yet feels comforting, like a cup of hot sweet drink on a rainy day. This is the only niche perfume I picked for this year's Fall Fragrance Picks. And this is the only niche perfume I have in a full size bottle that I currently have in my collection. Niche perfumes are so FREAKIN' expensive so I couldn't afford them *cry cry*.

Balmain Ivoire

I always picked this one every time the temperature drops because it is so good in colder weather. It's a bit heavy, powdery yet very elegant. Reminds me of Chanel no.5 but without the aldehyde. I can only wear this in summer if I would stay in an air-conditioned room all day. Otherwise, I think this perfume is more suitable for colder season like now :)

Tom Ford Velvet Blonde

This is the only one in decant bottle on my list of Fragrance Picks for Fall 2019. I actually mistaken this one for Tom Ford Velvet Orchid (which was the one I actually wanted), but I ordered this one instead because the name was similar to what I had in mind. It was an honest mistake, but turns out that this one is too much powdery for me. I can only wear this straight in colder months like Fall and Winter. I decided I'm gonna give this perfume one last round as I don't really fancy the scent. If it doesn't make it then I'll give it to my mom instead because it is kind of a mature scent anyway.
