[SKINCARE]: CHARIS N+ Clear Toner

One of the new addition to my skincare routine is this Charis N+ Clear Toner. If you didn't know it yet my favorite skincare product is Toner, hahaha.. Maybe it's not a significant / necessary product in a skincare range and even some people consider it a nonsense and don't even use toner in their routine, but I have always like using toners. Especially spray toners. And that's why there's always a toner in my skincare wardrobe.
Maybe because we have tropical weather here so it's always nice to spray on some toners to give some freshness to our face. Or maybe because I have combi-oily skin that sometimes I need to put on toners to get rid of oil on my face. Either way, toners is my favorite skincare product to buy, and so far I have purchased and tried several different toners (because I like trying new toners too 😁).
So this is a new-ish addition to my skincare wardrobe, a new spray toner to replace my old spray toner the Cremorlab Mineral Water which was about to be finished soon. I got this from Charis, the Korean app/website where you could buy Korean skincare products easily and they ships worldwide too.

I have tried a couple of Charis own brand products before and I think they are pretty good. This one is the Charis N+ Clear Toner and on the bottle it says that it's good for : soothing, exfoliating, and sebum control. So yes this is good for all skin types especially oily or combination skin like mine. I was intrigued to try this out because after reading the description on Charis app I thought I could use this as extra treatment for my hormonal acne and combi-oily skin.
It's main function is as a mild daily exfoliating toner and hydration. It contains BHA (white willow bark) and Madecassoside / Centella Asiatica extract. It also has anti bacteria agent so it's good for sebum control and pore treatment.
It has a clear but rather thick droplets of grey-ish liquid and when you spray it on to your face your skin will feel wet for a while, but it absorbs rather quikcly. If you want it to absorbed faster you can also tap tap your skin to help it sink faster into the skin. It doesn't feel sticky on the skin (which is a big plus for me!), and when my skin feels dry it rehydrates it immediately when I spray it on.
The only thing that I think may need to be perfected is the spray nozzle. It's rather stiff and you need to press it a little harder for it to spray, and the nozzle has a wide range so when you spray this on it kinda spread all over the face sparingly. But it's still okay though, maybe I'm just picky hehe..
Anyway, I'm using this toner everyday now because it’s so practical to use. There are several ways you can use this toner :
- Spray straightly on to your face to cover a large area, then leave it dry or tap tap your skin to help it absorbs faster.
- Spray it on cotton pads until wet and then swipe the pads on your skin.
- Spray it on cotton pads (use many of them) until wet and use the pads as sheet mask on your face.
I do number 1 for daily use after washing my face before the next skincare product, or as face spray whenever I feel that my skin is dry. And I usually do number 2 for double cleansing to help get rid of any dirt/oil residue and prepare my skin for the next skincare product.
When I first got it I used it as my only toner and didn't use any other toners for a little bit over a week, and I can see that my skin stays well-hydrated and my hormonal acne is more controlled and fastly reduced to normal. Meanwhile, when I combine this with my other skincare products it will boost them up especially the hydrating products.
I now used this mainly as exfoliating toner. So I used two toners in my skincare routine : an exfoliating toner and a hydrating toner. I quite enjoyed this as an exfoliating toner, because it's so practical. All you need to do is spray. And it's not drying as an exfo toner. Ever since I added this to my skincare routine it works together with my other skincare products and helps with my monthly acne being under control :)
